He loved 300, he loved Sin City, he's got TDK on his iPhone. He hasn't read the graphic novel for Watchmen, but I'm predicting that after we see the movie tomorrow he'll be borrowing my copy because he loves this stuff.

50 is not that old. My dad watches most of the same movies you do. And he understands them just fine.

I'm really surprised at the hoopla over Doc's manhood. Christ, I have one of the most immature minds at times, but I didn't even flinch when it showed up.

Not only was it NOT in-your-face as so many people claim, but one has to wonder why a penis holds your attention so much. Freud would have a field day with some of these people.

- Laurie and Dan dinner scene - him cleaning his glasses and that goofy smile got alot of laughs, the "awful latex" joke did too.

Ah yes, that scene got quite a few laughs from the crowd I watched it with as well. Malin Akerman looks amazing in that scene too. :heart:

When it comes to the movies, unless you keep tabs on it like most of us on the internet do, people only get info from commercials, posters, etc. Most of the time those people watching flicks on the weekend are just going as a lark, they ask their s.o. or their little gaggle of friends to see a movie, and they're making a split second decision on "let's go see such and such" movie as opposed to planning weeks in advance. That's why you get so many people in these types of audiences that are shocked and what not when the movie gets started...they did no research.

My dad was a huge Batman fan when he was a kid. He's always telling me how they never had movies like this back then so he's in his glory with them now.

Also, I did go see it as well, and the ghetto theatre it is, the scene with Comedian and Silk Spectre, someone blurted out, "that's chris brown and rihanna right there!", which got immense amounts of laughter.

Usually (and this is not a bashing but an observation) they're the type of people who are into very mainstream things or aren't very observant. You'll probably get "I've never heard of it" from them all the time.

Usually (and this is not a bashing but an observation) they're the type of people who are into very mainstream things or aren't very observant. I remember a while ago in my theater. about a month or so ago. They had a nite owl banner poster hanging from the celling and I was standing at the concession getting something and these old people look up to see the banners of Doc Manhattan,Nite Owl and Comedian.

And the one older guy goes is that suppose to be some kind of batman ripoff or something and whats with the blue dude?

I felt like saying something but i didn't.

I just saw 7:00 PM viewing on Long Island at this aviation museum that has IMAX. Problem was, the screen was curved around and i was sitting way too up close. So throughout the whole film me and my friends (who are big fans of the graphic novel) were pointing things out left and right that couldnt be seen within one view plane.

It was interesting to see movie goers dressed up as rorschach. there was one who dressed up as dr.manhattan...thats an oxymoron....

There was one guy sitting in front of me who was reading the graphic novel as the film was going on! Trying to compare the similarities.

Alot of people were pissed off by the ending. Like as soon as the plot revealed that it wasn't the squid teleported. There were outcries from the audience.

Overall it was a great exerience. It was like everyone there knew the material.

I think the suggested age range should be 14-40. Maybe I'll push the upper limit to 50.

Kids younger than 14 will be either bored, terrified, scared, scarred, or completely lost.

Adults over 50 don't have the attention spans, patience, the new age mindset, or the capacity to properly piece together and appreciate the movie for what it is and will probably not feel as if the movie has anything to offer them in what they look for in a movie that's marketed as a superhero adventure. I guarantee that anyone over 50 will probably walk out or if they stay, they will be very disappointed.

They may not have been offended by the sex/violence, they just might have thought the movie really sucked.

My audience was horrible. There were frequent stupid outbursts during any scene with nudity. When Dan's buttcheeks were out, they laughed. When the hooker pulls her breasts out, they laughed. When Doctor Manhattan was in a room naked, they laughed. They Shouted "What the F***?" When Rorschach stabbed Blaire Roche's killer, laughed when Rorschach said thing like "You're fat", "Abattoir of ******ed children", and then when Silk Spectre I finally showed up they screamed "****e", "****", and "ho" at her face. In the end at the new frontiersman, when the camera zooms in on Rorschach's journal, they shouted "what?" and then Rorschach narrates, starting with "Rorschach's Journal...." and they said "Oh!". And when Laurie asks " how are things down there?" there was a laugh, Dan starts with "Archie is running..." and the people who laughed follow with "oooohhhh". It was all very frustrating, and my brother was complaining on and on about the movie, and while I tried to justify the elaboration on certain points to make it very clear to the audience, someone walks out of the theater nexts to us and says "I didn't know what the F*** they were talking about, but the Blue guy was cool".

Honestly, I expect more from a midnight showing audience.

Like someone else said before, these people need to do so damn research before deciding to go see a movie they know nothing about.

What do they need to do stap a big blue penis on the poster. Or put a warning at the box that says this movie contains giant penis bewarned. like they did with the shaky cam effect with cloverfield.
