In EMH Mar-Vell's human alias was Philip Lawson.

Phil Lawson.

Phil Coulson.

When I watched the EMH episode "459" recently that is exactly what occurred to me. Phil Lawson was a n Air Force officer working at a NASA/SHIELD telescope with Carol Danvers. The character's name didn't have to be Phil, since the original character's name was Walter Lawson. It may be just a neat little coincidence or it could be a well-hidden Easter egg.

Poni Boy added more fuel to the speculation fire. Now we don't think its the entire Skrull or Kree races but maybe sub-groups like a bunch of Kree or Skrulls assembled as small invading factions or maybe The Inhumans under the control of Thanos instead of Ronan. Eternals are out, Celestials are out & The Deviants are out. I'm diggin' the idea of a bunch of Kree but I'm also inclined to think it might be a small Skrull faction with Clark Gregg's comments & the fact that Anelle has been brought up as Maria Hill's alter ego. D23 NEEDS to give us something. Something.

I'd love to see Thanos being The Emperor Palpatine of the movie with the invaders acting as multiple Darth Vaders. Cap & Hulk take on the shocktroops, Thor goes after Loki and then Tony & Fury make their way to the throne room where the mad titan awaits... gives me chills.

Not too shabby for a character who didn't originate in the comics. Giving him a central place in the film mythos first, then positioning him at the center of Cosmic Marvel, would be pure genius.

Well, I was the one who first published that the Skrulls would be mentioned in The Avengers, and what I said back then (about a year and a half ago) still stands. The Skrulls will get a nod but they are not the "invaders."

The reason Coulson is in these movies is cause its a cheap way of having a consistant character in each movie to conect the universe. They would probablt love it to have been fury evertime but them you have to pay Jackson. Honestly i dont understand all the Coulson love. What has he done to be thought of as so cool. He just a standard government guy. I mean I like the Character but I dont really want him having much more then a few minutes of screen time. Less then he had in Thor Cause as far as im concerned anything he does I would prefer to see Fury Hawkeye or Black widow do
