Not sure they do back-to-back films revolving around aliens, at least I hope they won't; too many villains to go back to that well so soon.
I'm leaning Kree but I admit that Kang would be an inspired and unexpected choice, just not sure the whole "time travel" thing is a good idea.
It was also mentioned that it is a small group of different alien races. Like each one is a different race and they are all named with personas that we can look up online.
Who knows. If thats true it could throw a monkey wrench in the Kree idea (because they are the same race) and kind of supports the Kang or Inhuman theory.

I don't want the Inhuman introduced as villains. Certainly not ones big enough to warrant a movie about the formation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It sort of locks them into being "bad guys" for the duration of the MCU's current continuity. People can't switch back and forth in movies as easily as they do in comics.
If what Poni says is true, the "entities" in question will not be "villains" per say. So that is what makes this tricky to peg. Loki at this point is our only true villain.

Then this quote from Thanos wikipedia comes to mind.
" Wishing to conquer the galaxy, the character builds a base on Earth, constructs a space vessel that acts as a "universal translator" for his huge army of alien mercenaries, and begins an obsessive quest for an item called the Cosmic Cube, which can make wishes a reality. Thanos eventually locates the Cube and wills it to make him omnipotent, easily defeating Earth's heroes as a result. "
Instead of a huge army of alien mercenaries we will get a small group Alien Mercenaries![]()
True. I would think Thor would be initially skeptical but eager to welcome back his brother. He obviously cared a lot for him in Thor.I think you're pretty right on with the initial Loki angle, makes sense. Could be that he tries to reconcile with Thor as a means to get SHIELD to listen to him: He forces Hulk to initially fight against the heroes as a means to show how he's changed.

Yeah, I think the Aliens will be more like hostile antagonists, but not technically of ill will towards earth, earth just stands between them and the cube and as lower lifeforms, seem inconsequential. Basically, like every Dr Who villain except Daleks :P
If Marvel can't use the name Skrull for the aliens in the Avengers, due to copyright violation.
Nokio said:it's already been debunked that FOX owns the rites to the Skrulls. They have the rites to the Super Skrull character and that's it, not the Skrull race.
I think the aliens will represented not as evil, but fairly unsympathetic and uncompromising, since I imagine their need for the cosmic cube is their own survival or to help in a certain 'war' against a certain warring race.
Also, can we please have a villain called Red Skrull?!?
