@Customfib While you may not enjoy the "loveydovey" stuff I do think its fair for Banner at least to see Betty again.

We haven't caught up with Banner in a while. I actually hope he gets a good deal of screen time and some character closure in terms of accepting the Hulk instead of constantly trying to eliminate that side of him.

That filmbuffonline timeline is pretty good, but it goes only as far as the Thor movie and leaves out CA:TFA and what we know about the Avengers.

But, going by that timeline, the Stark Expo was in May 2010, and TIH's Canadian cabin scene was in 2010 as well. So that puts the Avengers in 2012 (....duh, I guess), and indicates that Steve has already been in this brave new world for 2 years as well. Judging from the way he calls Fury "sir," and asks if he has a mission for him, he must already be an Avenger, too, or at least a SHIELD agent.

But didn't the events of Iron Man 1 take place in 2008 and seeing as how IM2 takes place only 6 months after it; Idk, maybe Iron Man 1 took place in 2010 instead.

I like that it was said that this time around Cap would be a little darker considering the whole aspect that he has next to nothing left but his country.

Plus the whole Tony pissing him off because Cap is all 'srz biznus' and Tony is...genius, millionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Ha ha ha xP

Heck, like I said before, Tony is theoretically, the only Avenger in this film with a happy personal life as far as we know since everyone else has personal issues of their own that deal with either the loss or separation of their loved ones or other things.

Sorry, I should have been clearer about what I meant, I don't mind if they run into them or whatever, hugs and kisses, blah blah blah, but what I meant was kind of how on Thor it focused too much on the love interest for my liking, I felt it dragged the movie down and could have done without it. Maybe I'm biased though cuz I'm a Thor/Sif kind of girl <3

Perhaps Steve called Fury "Sir," because he has been returned to active duty in the Army and assigned to work with SHIELD. In the pap photos from the New York set, Captain America is wearing his dress uniform, indicating that he's still in the Army. Is Nick Fury still a colonel or has he been elevated to general in the MCU timeline? Either way, he would be Captain Rogers' superior officer.

If Steve were reinstated to active duty in the U.S. Army, he'd be wearing the current Army uniform. The one we saw him wearing in those set photos was his World War II-era uniform. He was probably wearing it for some other reason.

Putting The Avengers in 2012 makes sense to me, given Widow's line to Banner about his not Hulking out for two years now. We don't know for sure that Steve was discovered and thawed out in 2010, though, do we? It could have been 2012 and he's only been awake for a few weeks or months at the beginning of The Avengers.

Now that I think about it, tony might be the most static main character in the movie, I get the feeling every character will be evolving in some way, but tony will be the one with the least change.
Cap is adjusting and accepting the new world he's in.
Banner will probably end up coming face to face with hulk, and maybe accepting him.
Thor will have to come to terms with path his brother has taken, and will need to prove that he can "do what needs to be done".

Ya'll are probably overthinking it, just think of it simply. It's Captain America, who always wanted to be soldier, he's in the gym, where I'm pretty sure he's put two and two together (if he didnt know about SHIELD or anything yet) that Fury is the boss around there, just manners in general ya know? I mean, he just got thawed out, whether it was weeks or months prior to that, he's still a soldier no matter what

I'd have to check with the many retired military people in my family, but I don't think that a soldier would casually wear his former uniform like that . There are regulations about it and Cap is a by-the-book kind of guy. That's not to say that Whedon wouldn't take liberties if he felt it fit the character and script, I suppose.

Given Captain America's legendary status, the Army might have allowed him permission to wear the World War II version of a dress uniform. I like that uniform anyway. It looks very much like those worn by my parents when they were in the USAAF in the late 1940s. Steve needed a lot more fruit salad on his chest, though.

I agree that it makes sense that Steve has only been "awake" for a short time at the beginning of The Avengers. He would still be in fighting trim because to him, his wartime experiences practically happened yesterday, yet the modern world would be disconcerting to him.

I agree,
Tony takes life like a boss.
Cap will have to go through his accepting that everyone he once knew is now since dead and all that stuff and get used to all of our new technology and such.
Banner has atleast controlled Hulk to a sense it seems, but other than that, the way he still calls his other side 'Him' and such, it seems like theres still progress to be made on that.
Thor is still growing up, and its hard to accept that his brother is all evil and stuff, I'm pretty sure hes gonna turn on the team at some point like the picture with Thor and Cap, and show his own protective brotherlyness side, in fact I can see him wanting to take down his brother himself and not wanting anyone else to touch him

What I like most about Tony is his true heroic aspect, once he's certain he doesn't back out, even if things go crazy.

*Taps shoulder from behind* Hey, there! Here's something a little more, well... Visual!

That's exactly what bothers me. Why Tony is still wearing his Mark VI armor (with the grey spots)? It's not like the Avengers started right after Iron Man 2 without some kind of gap in 3 or 4 months.

The same reason the Mark IV armor is exactly like the Mark III armor from IM1. The Mark VI was pretty much destroyed by Whiplash, so I'm sure he had the suit refabricated and modified.

WOW judging from the descriptions the footage was AWESOME!
*prays for leak/bootleg*

So how do you guys see the recruitment order going in this film; from first recruitment to the last person?

Good point. Cap comes from a generation that called every man older than them "sir".

Banner
Cap
IM
Thor

Hawkeye and BW are already part of the team aren't they

That's awesome  It's really tempting to import all my blu-rays and get to work on cutting a few feature length Avengers prequels from the assorted films, just for my own amusement.
i'm definitely doing some fan edits before avengers comes out. 20 and 60 min versions of cap, thor, ironman 1&2, and maybe hulk...probably not hulk though.

Thanks for posting. If you guys don't know it's the whole avengers panel minus the movie footage.

Was cool to hear son of coul name Adam warlock and Jim starlin. Also hiddleston snging the willy wonka song. Loki owned the panel.
