Spidey sure doesn't need to be reverted back, he's got plenty of rich history to go through and he's Son'y numero uno cash cow. Still, I wish there was way Marvel Studios could "rent" the movie rights just so he could turn up in one Avengers sequel, lol. I mean, surely that would benefit Sony whenever they release another Spidey film.

Apparently Universal asked Sony if they could include a Toby McGuire/Peter Parker cameo in the first Hulk movie, and Sony kb'd them, so I guess they are pretty tight about those kinds of deals. Although, if they feel they need a boost to their revenue, or cache with the kids, they might want to tie their new Spidey franchise into the MU with a cameo somewhere, of some kind.

came across this, and i loved the design.
Also seems in line with what the mo cap men were wearing.
Probably nothing but abandoned concept art tho. who knows?

looks like fan art.

I hope Loki's army really are actual recogniazable aliens from the MU and not some army made up of Asgardian creatures and humanoids.

I have no idea how everything works in the film industry, but with Disney recently buying all merchandising rights from Sony in exchange for what film rights they once had, it at least tells us they are on good terms with each other. Obviously it doesn't mean anything like that is guaranteed, but it's a start in the right direction.

I really hope this new trailer is mindblowing. I'll never forget seeing the trailer for Transformers 3 on the big screen. Even though i pretty much knew it wouldnt have much of a story, that trailer was among the best i've ever seen as far as action movies are concerned. The entire theatre from young kinds to grandmothers collectively ****ed their pants. i want that for the avengers

Yup, the only property that the MCU is really missing is the F4. Spidey, X-Men , GR, and DD all pretty much live within their own universes and don't really need to interact with the rest of the bunch.

I'd still like for Ghost Rider to be in the MCU so I could have my first and second favorite superheroes (Thor and Ghost Rider) in the same film universe.

Sadly, it isn't going to happen anytime soon :(

Yes. Don't kill me cos Avengers wasn't #1, lol

Oh no, I was actually one of your defenders against the rabble over there. Of course my list would have been in a different order but it was a good list none the less.

I disagree about the X-Men. I think the whole concept of 'Mutants' in general is so important to the Marvel Universe and one that is sorely, sorely missed. Characters like the F4 could really be introduced into the MCU at any time, but how would you possibly introduce the concept of Mutants, when they would have to have been established as a threat to humanity for years before Iron Man. It would be one of the most difficult franchises for Marvel to integrate into the MCU out of all the licenses they can't currently use.

What I quoted you on, you said the only property the MCU is really missing is the F4 and I put forward that the X-Men are also sorely missing from the MCU, as I stated.

Mutants are such a large part of the Marvel Universe and without the film rights to X-Men, the whole concepts of Mutants, along with many, many important characters, can't be included in the MCU.

See conversely, I feel X-Men and Mutants can survive in their own universe without the other MCU characters rather well. It gets tougher especially once you have Mutants being hated in the same universe as superfreaks being celebrated.

Man, I was hoping to have woken up towards seeing something about the trailer come on..shucks.:csad::oldrazz:

I'd say the FF would work well in the current MCU. Especially since they are planning to delve into the cosmic side of the universe after Phase 1, it'd be a perfect time for them to join.

As long as they make the FF origin separate from whatever happens in Avengers or any other superhero. I don't want Reed being a scientist who wanted to find the Rainbow Bridge and that's how they got caught in the cosmic storm.

That's one of the angles the X-Men played upon so well in the books: Racial prejudice.

Mutants are feared, not just because of their powers, but because they are a different race (Homo Superior), and what they potentially represent (the eventual extinction of the non-powered human race).

Augmented humans, like the FF, Spider-Man etc, get more of a pass from the public as they are still considered human in spite of their powers.

Knowing Marvel they would probably have Howard Stark being a colleague of Dr. Franklin Storm or something like that.

Don't want that at all. Yes, it's cool Howard Stark helped create Captain America, but the universe should feel bigger than just a handful of people who are tangentially related to one another.

I know what you mean! To be honest I have condemned the TF franchise for all eternity since the horrifying abomination that was TF2, but the trailer for TF3 was truly mindblowing. I took one look at that and said that this will be one of the top grossing movies of the year. It was one of the best trailers I have ever seen. Still will never watch it though. THE AVENGERS needs a trailer like that to seal the deal with HUGE numbers of the GA and send the awareness and hype skyrocketingly high!!!

People in the marvel comic universe are very complex and also hypocrites.
Lets allow a freak like the Thing to do his stuff freelly but lets arrest and register normal looking kids like Kitty Pryde because she is Homo Superior. That makes sense.
X men clearly belong to a different universe its such a mess in the comics.Im praying the movies will not make the same mistake

I share this opinion.
