Are we in consensus though about whats been said about Iron Man 2 being 6 months after the first?

I haven't heard that specifically dictated before but it does make sense for it to be between half a year and a year after the events of the first film, with the majority of the second film taking place before The Incredible Hulk.

EDIT: Then again that's up for debate as well because I'm pretty sure in news clips shown during IM1 you can see them date it in 2008. So I guess you can say the second film takes place half a year later in the screwy MCU timeline but not in our, real world, time line.

Which is pretty much what has been stated already. The question that continues to come up, though, is what exact date (MM/DD/YYYY) that happens. What I'm saying is the date is irrelevant because it won't match up according to the films. All that matters, like you stated, is "before, during, after" categorization.

Yea i was gonna say, i don't think the element Stark creates is Vibranium, considering it was already a resource used by his dad in the 40s.

Did anybody else notice how savagely Loki swung his staff at Thor when they were on top of Stark Tower in the Japanese trailer?

It looks like Loki's going to go all out and I can't wait to see what type of big moves he's going to pull out in this film.

I thought it was pretty clear that it was vibranium. Remember, in Iron Man 2 he said he was limited by the technology of his time and couldn't create that element. That jives with Captain America in which the vibranium in that movie is all the naturally occuring vibranium they were able to find in the world. Howard only worked with natural vibranium, he didn't make it, whereas Tony made synthetic vibranium.
