Kang? maybe not in the sequel, but I can see that happen in the threequel. Either him or Thanos, really. If we are lucky and get a 4th movie (I hope so, I'm kind of sick of this whole trilogy stuff, I want a Bond-like movie series!), then we might get the other one too.
Also, I see Skrulls down the line. They're to popular to ignore them. 4rd or 4th movie might apply to them too.
Sentry? Not until 2030

If we get four movies, this would be the villains I want:

- Avengers 1: Loki & Badoons
- Avengers 2: Ultron and a robot army
- Avengers 3: Kang the Conqueror with many, many warriors from the past and the future
- Avengers 4: Thanos with a crazy alien gang

I don't think so. I may be wrong but I believe The Amazing Spider-Man and Prometheus are the next films being released this year that were shot entirely using RED Epic cameras. Underworld and Haywire were the last two.

Sorry but what is the deal with RED Epic cameras? There was a nolanite troll on another site bashing JW for not filming THE AVENGERS with those.

Jeez they really aren't trying with those international posters are they? :funny:

I thought they were. Especially the dog fight at the end.

Yeah, the beginning of the movie (when Sam is in the "real" world) it was 2D. It immediately switched to 3D when he was transported to the Grid. Then when Sam left the Grid, and came back to the "real" world, it switched back to 2D. I thought Tron Legacy used the 3D, as a storytelling device, rather well.

Anyways, that's all I'm going to say on the subject. I realize that many people hate 3D and that's fine, but just know that there are people that are just as passionate about 3D than those that oppose it.

Since he was still thousands of miles away? Trying something else first would have been my guess. Break the controls, drops the bombs, crash the plane and try to "Super soldier" jump off. I dunno. Peggy's a fine piece of ass. I would have tried something.

My dude! I could shake your hand after the last 2 sentences....

Thank you for this.

I always felt the same way.

Doc Ock isn't genetically enhanced. Apart from the tentacles on his back, he is still a normal human being. Direct punches in his face by someone as strong as Spider-Man should have ripped his head off.

SM2 is indeed overrated. A good movie still, but the middle section felt kind of boring to me. Too much soap opera.

Yea I was sitting there thinking.... Damn this guy really has a chin on him. I mean that science geek could really take a damn punch. I understand you have to a fight scene. But that was pretty ridiculous

I'm split, as far as future villains. Ultron is a must. However, as much as I like Kang, I think the Masters of Evil would be easier to do on screen, and more of an innovation.

Oh, and I hope Sentry never, ever, ever makes an appearance in the MCU. And also, that he stays very very dead in the comics.

3D is a tool that, when applied correctly, works well to add a visceral dynamic to an already solid, visually enticing movie. It's perfect for animation since all the images are created in 3D from scratch (Puss in Boots was IMO be best 3D film to date). Avatar utilized it very well as did Tron Legacy because those films used it for added scope and depth in the CG backdrops that are fantastical. Since we don't really have glowing plant life and a real world "Grid" to compare it to you were able to get lost in their worlds. Neither the latest Underworld nor Resident Evil got it right even though they filmed it in 3D because the CG renderings were of real world environments that we could tell looked fake. Hugo perfected it for live action cinematography. All these other films, Captain America and Thor included, were a 3D mess.

RED Epic are the (current) pinnacle of digital motion picture cameras. I'm not a technophile so I won't try to explain it better than the company can: http://www.red.com/learn

As far as Avengers vs TDKR films go in the way of cinematography, it's hard to compare them. Wally Pfister is one of the best in the biz and because he's worked with Chris Nolan for so long they obviously know how to play off each other to get the "prefect" shot. Avengers has Seamus McGarvey who, at least in my book, is unproven for a film of this ilk. It has nothing to do with what camera they use, it has to do with how masterful they use what's available.

Sentry is a horrible character and should be never be included in a film.
i don't understand why this even needs to be said. there would need to be 1,000's of marvel films before the well was so dry it would be time to consider using the sentry. he's nuclear man bad.

The Sentry is just Nuclear man with Psychological problems.

Has this been posted yet? (sorry if it has) GQ interview with Joss, mostly regarding Cabin in the Woods, but some Avengers snippets:

We read that you fought with the Hulk on the set of Avengers Assemble.

It's fun to say that Mark Ruffalo and I fought a great deal, because he's the sweetest man that I may ever have met. Yes, we did actually lay out some mats and tussle but just trying to figure out what the Hulk would be doing, what a person does in a real fight. Once he gets angry you have to keep asking "well what's making him angry now..." and go moment-to-moment. That's been the hardest thing in this movie. Mark is tremendous, I think he's going to blow people away - again - and we've gone where nobody has. We've got the Hulk in the house and everything pisses him off.

Given that horror films are getting gorier and superhero films are getting bigger: how worried were you about making Avengers too big?

The trick is always "is it earned?" Does the sound and fury signify anything? With this film it was always a question of if the audience was going to go through this, making sure the Avengers went through it as well: really testing them, not just watching them punch people for two hours. It is big because it is by necessity big - it's not spectacle for its own sake and I'm not good at that. They wouldn't hire me for that, they'd get another guy. They'd get somebody whose specialty was carnage. It's partly the reason that Drew was the right person for Cabin: he will wade in gore with the glee of a 12-year-old. Whereas I will wade in Glee... [laughs]. I don't think people will watch Avengers and say "Oh, it's entered into the baroque stage and it's too much" I believe in the story and the people that I work. I'm just excited for everybody to see all the fun I've had.

Gotta admit, I never really warmed up to the guy. I think there was potential in the Sentry/Void, but I didn't like how it played out in the end.

Hmmm, interesting. I'd choose:
1: LOKI & the Badoon
2: ULTRON and technological war
3: Masters of Evil
4: THANOS

What is this Badoon stuff? Loki's fighting alongside primates?

I don't think Badoons are primates, you might confuse them with the intergalactic race of the Chimdanzees

I think *just* Ultron and an army of robots would get boring real quick to general audiences, though. Robot armies are dull as hell, and so been-there/done-that. Battle droids and New Trilogy all over again.

And I don't think audiences want to see another alien invasion in Avengers 2 --- makes the team look like a one-trick pony.

I think the sequel needs to stay on Earth, against Earthly villains. Ultron, yes, obvious choice; but if it's *just* an army of robots, then fail. Ultron as part of a Masters of Evil team? Now we're getting somewhere.

And I think Kang *could* work great in the sequel. Time travel is not the same thing as an alien invasion; and an army of crosstime mercenaries could actually look pretty cool. I'd love to see the Eternity War on the big screen.

why would Ultron need an army?
He's a one man army himself. especially in a world where weverthink is linke with each other via wifi, bluetooth and things like that.
Ultron makes Tony Stark's piece-of-glass-smart phone attack him....

Seriously, an Ultron movie could be the scariest s#!t ever for all technophiles

Sentry had a lot of potential as a character. A regular joe given the powers of a God, and how he deals with that, is compelling. I mean, how would you react and what sort of person would you be if you woke up one day and was basically a God? What is even more interesting is that he is both the hero and the villain, he has "superpowered schizophrenia" so to speak.

That potential was ruined when Brian Bendis got his hands on him and the depths of his psychological analysis of the character went no further than making him scared of his own power and flying off crying. Well done Brian!

You get Alan Moore or Grant Morrison or Warren Ellis to write a Sentry story and i guarantee it'd be amazing.

Isn't that basically every superhero movie? Different powers, same deal
