I think THG's huge, recording-breaking weekend may be a sign that people are very excited about movies this year, and they'll be looking for huge tentpole blockbusters like TA to quench their thirst for more. THG has led the way for the Class of 2012 and hopefully it will set the trend for the rest of the year.

That's what I'm thinking as well. THG was only a taste of what we'll be getting later this year, especially summer.

im currently Liking the sons of Muspelheim/fire demons as the Identity of Lokis army, im wondering (as i never got a look at the pics, that were posted some time ago) if the supposed "Thanos" mask/ actor could actually be Surtur instead?

The suits in this scene looked awesome. I never knew those were full CGI armors until I saw this.

This is The Avengers not THOR II, I think there's already enough links to Thor's universe as it is.

i just realized that the movie is only 5weeks away!!
and 4 weeks in some places....

God, that War Machine armor is huge. No way in real life anyone could walk around in that thing.

it doesnt matter what YOU think, the connection To Thor is strong what with Loki being the main Baddie and all, if you read norse mythology the events in Avengers closely resemble the start of Ragnarok, with the destruction of the bifrost then the attack on midgard by the sons of musplheim

Ehhh i think a large part of THG's success was pure curiosity, rather than actual interest or excitement.

It's all over the news, in magazines etc. People are bound to be like "Well let's go see it to see what the fuss is about".

We'll soon see. If it has big drops then yea i think my theory is probably correct. If it has smaller drops then obviously a lot of people really liked it beyond just casual curiosity.

I agree with this. Hype, whether deserved or not, can be infectious. The key is achieving the awareness and hype. Even I, sure that the movie wouldn't appeal to me, thought about going to see it just to see what all the fuss was about.

From some casual scanning on the net I see a split 50/50 liked/disliked with both 'read the books' and 'didn't read the books'. And I percieved very little 'it was so awesome I want to see it again' except from those who read the books and liked it.

To me it depends on the lighting of the sequence's environment that make the suits look good for that scene in particular. However they did seem a little too obviously-CG when the two were on stage at the Expo.

I could also say the same to you, no need to get "snarky" buddy it's just an opinion that I have a right to express.

So when will we able to read the 1st reviews?

Way to go Thor....lol

Didn't Mark get booed at Comic Con last year when he was introduced as Bruce Banner/ Hulk? LOL that should have been a big warning sigh right there for Marvel. I really enjoyed Ed Norton in TIH and its a shame him and Marvel Studios Kevin Ferge didn't get along.

The only thing that's a sign of is the fans at that panel were a bunch of dickbags. I like Ed Norton and wish he was still involved but he's not, and there is certainly no reason to **** on Ruffalo in any case.

That doesnt mean its gonna happen. Do the invaders look ANYTHING like fire giants?

Holy crap, we're getting down to the wire

Not being "snarky" what i mean is it doesnt matter what you think, as your not writing, directiing, or producing the film, you could think the Hulk is too green doesnt matter you have no control of it, anyway back to my question....
