Superman Returns had the least action of any superhero movie in the last decade. Not one punch thrown by the hero, a so-called villain who couldn't go toe-to-toe with the lead, and the main "action" sequences involved very minor use of power. The latest trailer for The Avengers had more action in it than the entirety of SR. I would far prefer that Marvel maintain the level of action in its own films than mimic anything in the Superman franchise thus far. I can't imagine Thor or Iron Man getting the **** beat of of them by a wimp with no powers, like Superman did (thank goodness).

I would say Superman Returns had more action scenes in it than The Dark Knight. That plane catch still gives me goosebumps when I watch it.

Also, Superman didn't throw one punch in the 1979 movie either. Still the best CBM of all time. No need to punch a bad guy in the face to show heroism. Food for thought.

That's an opinion :oldrazz:

That was understandable for its time, but superman returns was made in a time where they difinately couldve had an amazing fight scene

Clearly, there was no excuse for there not to be atleast one awesome fight scene in the film.

Yeah, To Me, Superman: The Movie STILL ranks as my all time favorite CBM.

Well, you're gonna get all kinds of face punching and stuff from Zack "Slo-mo-sexual" Snyder. The movie will still be crap.

Yeah, To Me, Superman: The Movie STILL ranks as my all time favorite CBM.

It really is a perfect movie. Whimsical, adventurous, funny and full of heart. Not one superhero film has come close to being as impactful to date.

Him catching Lois was a great scene that STILL gets me to this day.
"You've got me!?........WHO'S GOT YOU!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Seriously.

Side note, Chris Reeve getting paralyzed seemed to have the same effect in the US as Princess Diana dying for Brits. I remember a lot of crying.

It was a tragedy, and it couldn't happened to a better man and a great role model. And how Chris Reeve and his late wife dealt with it was even more inspiring than that iconic superhero he was associated with. May their souls rest in peace.

It's still just an opinion, no matter how popular.

I totally agree .
Superman the Movie is my favorite CBM of all time .

Yes it is. One shared by the vast majority of superhero movie genre fans.

I don't know about that. Maybe once upon a time that was true but I don't think it's so easily settled any more. I love the movie(still makes it into my top 5 superhero films) but it looses major points with me for having the biggest BS cop-out in superhero movie history, if not all movie history.

im currently Liking the sons of Muspelheim/fire demons as the Identity of Lokis army, im wondering (as i never got a look at the pics, that were posted some time ago) if the supposed "Thanos" mask/ actor could actually be Surtur instead?

Not a big fan of that

Not being "snarky" what i mean is it doesnt matter what you think, as your not writing, directiing, or producing the film, you could think the Hulk is too green doesnt matter you have no control of it, anyway back to my question....

Dude relax

Wow, BigThor is probably the most respected poster here. It is kinda..odd..to see someone talking like this to him.

Random question time: For everyone going to a midnight showing, how far in advance do you intend to arrive at the theater?

I plan on waking up, watching the 9 hour movie, then leaving, so I plan on leaving my house around 7:30 pm :P

Whoopsiee -_-....its 3:20am, forgot about multiquote, sorry guys!

However Superman was a great movie. It was a good movie, not just a good CBM, but a great movie. Christopher Reeves was more than superman, very tragic
