I that works fine for The first film .
But, what about sequels?
Are they ALWAYS going to disband at the end?

Let's get through this movie before we starting thinking specifics about sequels haha

Already answered this in the last page

Too many teams might become redundant, giving the audience a "been there, done that" feeling. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy seeing the WCA or the Defenders, but there would have to be clear distinctions between the way the teams operate. It would also be an expensive proposition to produce so many team franchises.

Anyone know if any IMAX theatres will be playing the film in 2D ala Hunger Games?

I watched Hunger Games in an IMAX screen on Thursday & it looked simply gorgeous. It bugs the **** outta me that all the IMAX theatres pre-selling tickets for Avengers are all 3D.

Unless you make each team, different...

Captain America 2 (or even IM3) can introduce Captain Britain or the European Defense Initiative. Bring on a fantasy heavy Excalibur and you'll set another superhero milestone

I'm hoping I can see it IMAX 2D. All I've seen is 3D tickets for sale

IMAX 2D is worth $16 a ticket, trust me.

Me and my daughter were just dazzled by the picture quality on Hunger Games. She's already talkin' about becoming a DP in college :yay:

Thats great to hear. I'm sure it will be worth it to see the avengers in IMAX. Cant think of a more worthy film. 16 plus 3d is just a whole lot to pay.

I know, its ********.

Here's another movie I really wanna see in IMAX 2D:

Absolutely. Avengers and Prometheus demand IMAX and though I don't particularly like 3D I'll suffer through it if it means viewing those in IMAX.

so was looking at the new HD german poster and noticed something....
WHY DOES THOR HAVE A HAMMER IN BOTH HANDS LOL
this just shows how bad the photoshopping has been for the posters

Finally found a super high-res (2048x1365) version of that Maria Hill pic with her behind the monitor. I've stared at Cobie long enough, so I reversed it to see what was on the monitor.;)

The target is aimed at northern Siberia. And the screen heading says "Sector Search Modes."

I'll betcha a two-dollar bill that this is where Cap and Tony run into Thor for the first time, newly returned to Midgard. The forest scene could definitely be Siberia.

And the X-Files conspiracy nut in me can't resist, so: the target shown on the Siberian map is pretty close to Tunguska, site of a very (in)famous blast in 1908 that wiped out a massive chunk of forest. To this day, the explosion remains a mystery, but has been a favorite topic of speculation for conspiracy theorists for over a century.

So while we're on the subject of post-Avengers solo films, anyone else feel the studio made a big (HUGE) mistake giving Thor II a release date just a week shy of the second Hunger Games film? In just one week, The Hunger Games made what Thor made in its entire domestic run. I think Marvel/Disney need to move that film asap.

Oh! The Tunguska fireball, blast whatever, yea thats mainly what I know Siberia for...save the snow. What if Thor arriving on Earth has a similar effect on the environment?

Absolutely they should movie it. But to be fair, I think Thor 2 had that release date set first. They should still move it though

I would place Thor II closer to the summer season. April 5, 2013 I think would be a good fit. It has 3 weeks of breathing room before Tom Cruise's Oblivion project hits.

has the movie been shot with an IMAX camera (like TDK)? or are they just using normal cameras and screening them onto IMAX screens?

I don't believe it was shot in IMAX or 3D format.

I would kill for a 2D IMAX showing. Never gonna happen for me. I have one IMAX screen close to me and it only shells out 3D IMAX when that's what the studio is asking. No fair.

I get a little bit of justice though since my brother works at a cheaper theater and I can get in for free. Midnight release is a different story, but repeated viewings are a whole different story!:woot:

^it wasn't shot in IMAX nor in 3D. Whedon shot it in 1:85 & post-converted it to 3D. I dislike both cinematic choices.
