Im not always posting here but am glad to add positivity when possible. Has anyone seen the tv spots on tv yet? If so what show were you watching? Thanks

When I woke up today my tv was on cartoon network and the first thing that popped up was the headcount tv spot. Win!

Finally saw an Avengers tv spot last night. Squealed and scared the dog.

It is wonderful to see Stan there with the cast on set. When he created The Avengers almost 49 years ago, he probably never dreamed that the characters he helped bring to life would spawn multiple movie franchises and ring up over $2 billion in ticket sales. He has to be having the time of his life right now, and no one deserves it more than him.

Amen brother.

Agreed. One thing I wonder is that with all that he has created being loved so much all over the world, I wonder if its like a fountain of youth. The guy is 89 and acts half that age and I can hear in his voice that he has a zest for life. I hope I get a chance to meet him someday soon.

I think you're right about that. Stan's enthusiasm for his life's work seems to keep him young at heart. After filming Stan's cameo, Chris Evans said that The Man has as much energy as a kid. It's inspiring to see someone his age who has such a joy of living. I'd love to meet Stan, too, because he's been my idol since I was a kid.

I've brought this up before, but the Jack Kirby interview where he basically calls out Stan Lee as a sham was pretty eye-opening. I've always hoped it wasn't true, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't taint my image of Lee some.

^ It sounded to me like ol' Kirby was sippin' on some old fashioned "haterade".

Agreed. Look at Kirby's work after he left Marvel and it's clear that Stan Lee had a lot more to do with the success of their collaborative works than some have claimed. Stan has never returned fire, which shows a lot of class on his part.

Maybe, maybe not. It's tough to say.

I'm only asking this because I don't know: what has Lee created since Kirby quit?

The documentary I saw on Stan's Lee's life had him unloading all kinds of praise on Kirby.

Well, i missed it, but , recently,he had a book signing at my local Barnes and Noble for a graphic Novel about a Sci Fi retelling of Romeo and Juliet .

Thing is Kirby and Ditko's stories corroborate with one another in regards to Lee. Even then I still appreciate what Stan Lee has done.

Chris captain america Evans arrived in Brazil today to promote the Avengers, here the specialists are saying the movie will brake all boxoffice records

He really is Cap now too isnt he?
He is a much better representation of Steve Rogers than people expected him to be .
I remember quite a few people being dissapointed with that casting choice .
I was not one of them.

My friends still ***** about Evans being Cap. They insist that to be more like Comic Book Cap he should be much older (between 40-50). Thing is, they don't read comics

I remember hearing all of the candidates for the role and just imagined Joe Johnston putting up headshots of all the young male actors who weren't too busy and chucking darts to make the shortlist. Then... They announced Evans. Great choice, Johnston.

But he's like... 90. :o

I know

I remember throwing Evans' name on a casting thread.

They called me a madman. A MADMAN!

But I showed them... I SHOWED THEM ALL!
