post credit scenes are nothing new. People were doing it way before Marvel Studios. Blaming Edgar Wright is pretty misguided.

It's good that they made it a mid-credits scene instead of an after-credits scene. Never understood why they made us sit through the long ass credits for those scenes.

It gives the audience incentive to stay for the credits. I've heard its suppossed to be disrespectful to not sit through the credits in some countries. It makes sense. All these people worked hard to make this film least we could do is sit through the credits and give them their due. If there isn't **** music over the credits I don't mind.

Sometimes it is a choir though. Had no trouble with Thor however, loved the music.

I prefer credits that use the score. I generally hate when they include mainstream crap such as rock, rap, pop etc. over the credits of a film that has none of that music in it. Half the songs are **** they choose for credits so I'd rather they stick with the score. I always liked that john Williams would compose a piece for the credits or do a mix for them.

imho thor, cap, and TIH all had great scores...especially TIH, for me the music really gets me pumped up (play it on my phone at the gym).

Usually, if we really enjoyed a movie, this is the exact reason we'll stay through all the credits (regardless of whether there's 'something' at the end or not). It's our way of showing appreciation to everyone that worked on the film - they put in who knows how many hours/days/weeks/etc, I figure I can give 5 min. to see their name scroll across the screen.

If that makes sense. That's just my personal opinion though - so even IF there isn't another additional scene at the end when it's released in the U.S., I'll probably be staying through to the end of the creidts anyways.

I am with ya. That is my one problem with Memento. It is one of my favorite films and I love Bowie, but it really puts me off.

So, leading up to Avengers i've went through about every Avengers-related movie I could think of in the past 2 weeks to get ready...so far i've watched:
IM 1 & 2
Thor
TIH
Ultimate Avengers
Ultimate Avengers 2
Planet Hulk
Next Avengers
1st season EMH

I'm saving Cap for the day before so it leads right into Avengers. Man, I am so ready for this!

MY family and I like to play find the strangest name game. :woot:

exactly, think of how much better the mid credits scene would be if it cut to main theme instead of pop rock whatever it was

always exceptions though

iron man black sabbath :woot:

we'll do that too :cwink: or see how many people have the same name as someone we know

My niece us to be big on that. When she was really little, she use to think it was the actual person she knew. :woot:

My friends are so impatient that they are up as soon as the first credit is on the screen. Lol, I've told them something was at the end knowing there wasn't just to watch them huff and puff when there isn't anything after the credits.:woot:

I've never seen all of that film. Something I need to rectify.

well guys, i'm out of here till after I see the movie...i just keep accidentally seeing spoilers out in the open and it's just gonna get worse till 4th...

It's just tedious to make them wait out the entire credits. Not to mention those sequences are a crucial part to the inter-connective tissue of the films.

I'll tell you one thing, working at a movie theater nothing pisses me off more than people waiting for the ENTIRE credits to finish before we can start cleaning.

Are you serious?

people try to bust ass out the door and treat the parking lot like it's a drag strip. Stay for the credits and you can

1) show a bit of respect for the people who made the movie
2) discuss the film a bit with your friends
3) stretch and collect your jacket/personal belongings
4) annoy the high school dweebs who want you gone so they can half ass their sweep job
5) let the restrooms clear out a bit
6) exit at a leisurely pace

not to mention catch a stinger every now and then. marvel isn't the only films that have them. I wait until the end every time.

Yes, it must be so hard to stand there, and do nothing while getting paid.:whatever: Get over it. We pay to see the whole film, and not at your convenience.

Hmm, that's some good reasons. I'm gonna see if I can get my ADHD friends to see the light.

Now that is very well said, and really goes along with how I feel as well. I enjoy finishing up watching the credits because a lot of the time I like the music, I love the atmosphere in the theater (so nice and cool in the summers), and I like for the crowds to clear. Plus, it's one of my favorite times to go over with friends or family on our favorite parts of what we watched.

Nothing ticks me off more than the kids who like to make their displeasure with us, the paying audience who make sure they get their paychecks, known with slightly louder than necessary comments. Get over yourselves, it's your freaking job, and it's not anywhere near the most difficult part of it. Let people enjoy the last few minutes of the experience they paid for, and if it bothers you so much, go work at a gas station or something. I'm sure you'll look back and wish the worst thing to happen in your day was having to lean on a wall and relax while you wait for a theater to clear out.

It only gets tougher when you grow up and have to get "real" jobs "out there".

Very.

It's annoying when you have a full theater, with people waiting in line for the next showing in that theater, the theater is completely TRASHED, and with other theaters getting out. But I wouldn't expect you to get it.

but isn't it part of your job to let people finish the movie they payed for? I've watched credits because I've known people in the industry. It's your job to wait. So what if there's people in line? The theater gives you time to clean it before the next showing. You just want a head start so u can move at a slower pace....
