I work at a theater too, and it never bothers us when people stay through the credits. I mean, I mostly work in projection now, but back when I regularly worked the theaters, we all took it as a nice opportunity to stand around and chat outside the auditorium without getting the evil eye from management that we would otherwise get if we just stood around doing nothing. Besides, our movies are more the indie/foreign film types, and the crowds for those movies almost ALWAYS have people who stay through the credits, so it's kind of expected for us at this point.

I myself prefer to stay through the credits when I watch a movie as well, for most of the reasons Whiskey listed above.

but isn't it part of your job to let people finish the movie they payed for? I've watched credits because I've known people in the industry. It's your job to wait. So what if there's people in line? The theater gives you time to clean it before the next showing. You just want a head start so u can move at a slower pace....

No, I want a head start so I can finish faster, let people in, and therefore avoid customers *****ing about waiting "too long" and managers *****ing. It'd be better if people weren't so sloppy and disgusting, but nobody cares because about being helpful because "it's my job".

It's annoying when you have a full theater, with people waiting in line for the next showing in that theater, the theater is completely TRASHED, and with other theaters getting out. But I wouldn't expect you to get it.

I actually worked in a theater, I know exactly what it's like. It's how I made money through college. And I still stand by my statements. It's your job, and the people paid to watch the entire movie, not clear out to make your life easier. It sucks, but I know that in their position, I would want the same courtesy.

When you go out and get a grown-up job, it only gets more difficult. You don't even get walls to lean against!

Perhaps a career change? But maybe not something in customer service.

You'll be happy to know me and mine always throw out our own trash.

this is what i am gonna do to entertain the cleaners waiting to clear up after everyone

once the credits are fully underway and most have left the cinema, i am gonna start laughing and cheering and shouting at the credits, as if i was still watching the actual movie

that should cheer them up as they wait :woot:

Seems like a courteous thing to take out your own trash. Thats what we do.

To be fair, having worked retail and at a movie theater, I know the wrath of the almighty consumer. And while there are many great people out there, the bad ones (who come out constantly) will make you hate the day you were born. I totally understand wanting to avoid that at all costs. I detest people who give employees such brutally difficult times when there's clearly nothing at fault with the employee themselves.

Oh, and bathroom cleanup....that will haunt me 'til the day I die.

I hear what you're saying Nirvana, but it sounds like you're upset at the people staying ONLY because it gives fuel to those worst-of-the-worst people out in the hallway.

I always pocket candy wrappers and toss my own drink in the trash. And I don't buy popcorn so no spills. But no doubt there are all sorts of slobs who treat public spaces like a landfill. One only has to look at public restrooms nearly anywhere to see how much respect the majority give to stuff like that.

Pretty much this. During the busy summer months, it's a pain in the ass. Now, during the week and you're the only person in the theater with little trash? Then who cares, stay there all day for all I care.

It's mostly kids under 21 that just leave trash, because frankly they're used to being cleaned up after at school, at home, etc. If you're grown and you don't get rid of your own trash, I don't know what the **** is wrong with you.

True. And its not like its a hassle to take your stuff out. You brought it in full, you can surely take it out empty

Very.

I get it, but it is a part of your job. I worked fast food for years and closed the dining room 5 nights a week. I feel your pain. That being said, if you can't handle it get another job. It is not my personal vendetta to make it harder on you, but we pay to see the WHOLE film, and theaters schedule films to give time for cleaning. If you can't get it cleaned take it up with management. Enjoy this slight inconvenience now. When you have a career or if you ever work in business you may miss this mild inconvenience.

I do not buy candy, drinks, popcorn etc. so I rarely have trash. When I do I clear it up myself. Heck, I've cleared up others trash to help the cleaners.

The moment the credits started rolling yesterday we were being given a huge evil stinkeye by the cleaners, but three quarters of the audience stayed put and refused to budge until the credits had finished.

Same way with sports stadiums. I've cleaned up a few to earn money for sports teams and clubs in high school and was just amazed at how much trash people leave in the stands, considering all the garbage cans located throughout the stadium.

I wasnt aware cleaners had such strong personal feelings about this.
Post credit scene or not ,
I usually sit until the credits are done .
And I ALWAYS take my trash with me .
Usually, the cleaners are very courteous as I exit.
I dont cause any trouble,
I just want my full film experience .
After all, I paid for it .

I get to see this in about an hour or so....I'm excited.

I'm off to get my tickets for tomorrow. I wish I could hibernate for 24 hours dammit!

So is cap the leader of the group?

One of the things they did AWESOMELY was show Cap's leadership skills. As soon as the final battle starts he is giving orders left right and centre. Evans did a great job - he never came across as whinging or demanding when giving orders, he was nothing but confident and assertive. It really gave you the impression that Cap knows his ****.
