Yea the one thing I loved was the part where it showed the civilians reaction to seeing Steve.

I loved the scene with the police officer:

"Who are you that you think you can give me orders?!"

*Cap smacks some aliens*

Police officer: "Ok, let's do it!"

Something similar, I can't recall the correct words they're saying.

wahoo.gif

I cannot wait!!

ps. since yesturday I've havn't been feeling that well hence why I wasnt on yesturday at all, thankfully today i feel a little better but i'm stuffing myself with meds to get rid of the headache before I go in. Nothing is going to stop me enjoying this movie to the max!!

I'll tell you one thing, working at a movie theater nothing pisses me off more than people waiting for the ENTIRE credits to finish before we can start cleaning.
If I were you I'd be less pissed off at those that actually appear to be film enthusiasts and more pissed off at those making a mess in the theater.

This has probably already been posted, but just to say as well, anyone reading this Joss Whedon interview on aicn, do not read any of the comments underneath, there are major avengers spoilers, and as well as what looks like a spoiler for prometheus.

Right I'm off so I'll talk to you guys later probably, with a (spoiler-free) review if I have time to write one up and can be bothered too. Lol.

Well, still haven't seen it yet due to certain circumstances, but hoping to catch it over the weekend and/or on Tuesday (cheap Tuesday for my friends).

But here are a couple of interesting articles:

Second Best B.O. Opening of All Time

Five Fun Facts About The Avengers

This one probably applies in the Joss Whedon thread because this offers his insights and past body of work but this is good here too: The Dirty Half Dozen

A humourous 'what if I were an Avenger' piece: Finding The Perfect Avenger For You

And this is quite funny as well. Who knew that this was an actual origin story? If Avengers Were 10 Times Manlier

GAH

Someone just offered me a free ticket to an IMAX showing tonight and it's the one freaking night I can't go. Bullshapoopies.

So I saw The Avengers last night, and it was insane, awesome, and everything you hoped it will be and more. I feel sorry for North American audiences that have to wait until next week, but the wait is definitely worth it. Definitely see it in IMAX or even IMAX Digital (which is how I saw it, the Digital one), as it looked and sounded fantastic.

oh ****...

i just realised that at no point in this movie did
anyone say "avengers assemble!"

...i'm kinda upset about that now.

but the movie was awesome!!! going to see it again tomorrow and the next day.

8.5 hours for me now!!

I was thinking before i saw the film, that it would be awesome if Cap starting fighting, and everyone just dosent know who he is compared to the young people who all pretty much worship stark and fear hulk etc, but then a couple of old people go wide eyed in nostalgia as they go all boyish and young again, seeing their hero in the flesh.

It nearly happened with that old guy who was blantantly a WW2 survivor, but they never really showed a reaction from him, which disappointed, but still a nice moment nontheless.

That was a brilliant moment. Captain America fast become one of my favourite characters after seeing his debut film, and this just strengthened that opinion. I admire his bravery and courage, for example
going down and intervening in the Thor/Iron Man fight, or showing up to fight Loki during the kneel down scene and holding his own.

Ok Now the wait until next thursday night midnight is starting to become overwhelmingly unbearable for me . :cmad::argh::wall::fst::exp:

[BLACKOUT]which old guy? the one who stood up to Loki? He was a German, so if he fought in WW2 he probably fought against Cap..... Just sayin[/BLACKOUT]

One of the things they did AWESOMELY was show Cap's leadership skills. As soon as the final battle starts he is giving orders left right and centre. Evans did a great job - he never came across as whinging or demanding when giving orders, he was nothing but confident and assertive. It really gave you the impression that Cap knows his ****.

yeah, all their egos were clashing at the start, but when cap stepped forward at the end, everyone just listened.
