If Sony Pictures did indeed kick the bucket, Marvel would waste no time in getting the film rights back...there's NO WAY they'd let their flagship character be acquired by another studio.

Damn!! If Sony pictures goes down then there will never be a God of War movie.

Yeah, it's put up or shut up time for Disney should Sony go up. That's their best and probably only chance to get Spidey back.

LMAO, I'd laugh if Warner Bros bought the rights.

how many other studios would love to get their hands on a billion dollar tent pole franchise????

the correct answer is all of them

And considering Disney owns the merchandising rights, they'd likely be willing and have the incentive to outbid everyone else

My point exactly. Which is why I think Marvel would do everything they could to get Spidey back. It'd really be their only opportunity for a very long time..

I don't want ASM to bomb, but I do want Spidery to go back to Marvel Studios. :spidey: Maybe if it makes money but didn't live up to expectation, then Sony will sell the rights back to MS.

I sure wouldn't mind a shared MU that includes Spidey but if I NEVER see him as a cinematic Avenger, I would die happy.

uh no. Thats not how it works. If Sony goes up...and I don't think it will the rights got up for sale as does every other property they own. Marvel would have to buy back the right or another studio could swoop in and buy the rights. If Sony goes up the rights don't automatically go back to Marvel.

Well, Marvel/Disney will definitely buy back the Spider-Man rights from Sony if given the chance to do so, and with Disney's deep pocket they can afford it, too. Can you imagine having Spider-Man in The Avengers 2? That sequel will be unbelievable.

As awesome as it would be, I'd prefer if it didn't happen, Disney rights or no Disney rights.

first of all thank you so much for sharing all the info,
first time following a film this closely,

but so glad to hear that Tony have a big character arc, I was wondering if we do get to see a more emotional side of him
anything else you can share about him? don't have to be that specific, anything will do :woot:

Def see a more emotional side to Tony.

I was pretty emotionally invested in Hulk's transformation in Samuel's lab, it really hit home with me for some reason.

Whedon earns that amount of emotion during one single shot

^ I resent you that PM Bosef, since you said you didn't get it a few pages back.

For IM3 I want Tony to be taken down a peg.

The one thing that Tony hasn't lost in all three films is his arrogance and bull-headed attitude...I'd like to see Tony truly humbled and taken down a peg.

I expect Spider-Man to stay in Webb's universe until his trilogy is completed. Kind of like what Nolan has done with Batman. After that I could see Spider-Man teaming up with The Avengers.

Bosef, I have a question. You don't have to say who, but the after credit villian, how much does he look like his comic counterpart? On a scale of 1-10, 1 being nothing like him, 10 being looking like him

Who wants to hear my theory on the character tragedy?

Jaqua, if you want to know that head to the post-credits scene thread. That's answered.
