    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

The Avengers The Avengers Post Screening Review & Discussion Thread (SPOILER FILLED) - Part 5

Totally didn't occur to me to ask this before, but do
any of the Chitauri speak aside from their hooded leader?

There's one thing bugging me about the mid-credits scene.

Why is Thanos' hand seemingly human when he slams it down?

I'm pretty sure that was the other guy's hand, not thanos'

^ Nope, it was definitely his hand.

I think it might've been a production mistake, happened so quick and for a mid-credit scene? Probably they didn't care enough to flush out all the details.

to me it seemed Loki was using the staff to incite everyone's anger in the room

More I think about this, more I think only Banner was affected by Loki's spell. The other people arguing in the room had plenty to get upset about without magic involved - Fury hiding Phase 2 then blaming Thor, Cap and Tony not getting along to begin with, Tony not trusting Fury, etc. Guess I have another reason to watch it a 3rd time next Thursday to confirm

Says the person with an X-Men avatar, A "Mutant and Proud" subtitle under his screen name and a link to X-Men Central? Of course you're not being biased. lol :cwink:

You have 'Avengers fan' under your username.

It just opened in Mexico so I just saw it. I really thought it was the best superhero movie ever made. Too bad no after credits scene, but there is one when the credits are about to start about the next movies villians muhahaha

I also didn't think much of the character interaction bar the work between RDJ and Ruffalo, the latter actually stealing the show for me both as Banner and his monstrous counterpart. But even Hulk is effected by the poor pacing, he randomly goes from
being an uncontrollable monster in one scene to taking orders in another scene, from not being able to distinguish between good and bad in one scene to saving the good guys in another scene. There's no pay off between these scenes to show us Banner learning how to control the monster

All in all, an entertaining 2 hours but no more than a 3/5 IMO. Disappointing as I was so excited to see this film.

It is not that the Hulk could not distinguish... he was being affected by Loki's staff just like everyone else. But the hulk being rage he lost all control

can anyone please tell me what happened to thor when he fell from the helicarrier inside the glass cage? i know he broke and smashes out in it in the last minute but when he tried to summon his hammer, why didnt it flew to him? did he temporarily loses his power?

At that point Thor did not deserve to pick up the hammer because of the interaction they had in the helicarrier

Huh?

It had nothing to do with that. It was a "pause and reflect" gut-check moment ..... as in, was it worth it to him to continue fighting?

His "worthiness" was not a factor in this film whatsoever.

I've already seen the movie so don't bother hiding spoilers from me. Was it actually mentioned in the movie what Loki's staff was?

Avengers has just been put up online

Question

Shall I watch it now, or wait

I am going to see it tomorrow morning, but am so tempted to watch it now and then again at cinema :woot:

I already know quite a lot of spoilers

Maybe watch online, then 2D in cinema, then 3D IMAX? :woot:

This movie amongst all is to be viewed on a big screen as it's mainly a visual spectacle. Don't screw it up for a few hours. That's El Payaso's piece of advise.

Tell me where you live, so I can come over and smack some sense into you. Of course you'll wait and watch it in Theaters. :argh:

Watch it at the cinema first. Trust me, it's better that way. You don't have long to wait :)

Wait. I already saw it and even I wanna wait to see it again in a theater.

I remember I watch Avatar online first, the quality was not that great and so did not see all the wonder of the special effects

However I still gave the film a 10/10 after that online viewing

The quality is not that bad compared to what is normally the case

Its just the start is missing

Decisions decisions....

I would wait another month before I ruined it watching a crappy bootleg.

I agree. Dont watch in on your computer. Thats ridiculous. Plus, thats illegal.
