Wait...McDonalds Happy Meals used to be $1.99?!?! :wow:

There were some BTTF toys when the first sequel came out. They even had a BTTF skateboard. Couldn't convince my mom to let me get one.

i had the skateboard it had the Delorean shown from the rear with 2 fire trails coming from the tires and the BTTF logo above it.

About the whole Clara thing, I don't see what's so hard to understand. I believe danoyse answered it quite clearly.

The one point I hadn't thought about until reading this thread, by Doc marrying Clara, after a point in which she died in the original timeline, Doc doesn't disrupt the timeline as far as Clara not having children and descendants in the original timeline or any other interactions that she could have had that would effect future events (aside from the naming of the ravine).

At the time this promotion was going on, I was outgrowing Happy Meals. Me and pop would go to Mickey Ds sometimes, Happy Meal? Heck no! Gimme a McDLT and a Sprite.

But I sure got a couple of these marvels.

I had Marty on the skateboard. To my great regret, I never got the Delorean.

Oh wow, I had three of them. The Delorean was obviously the best one.

So I finally got around to playing the BTTF game that came out recently.

The last episode was super touching. Alternate Doc dying to save Marty, then Marty hugging the real Doc after he came to pick him up and hearing Micheal J. Fox were all moments that really warmed my heart. Overall I thought the game was rather well done and if there had been another trilogy to the series I could see the story in this game working (with some tweaks of course). The concept of an alternate Doc Brown that was misguided and malicious was a great idea. I was just really impressed by how much more depth it added to the series. Hopefully they do follow through with another series of games, though I hope they change the mechanics a bit. I'm not really a fan of the controls in these kind of games.

Let me just preface this by saying that I am a total musical theater geek.

That being said...HELL NO to this:

‘Back To The Future’ Heading To Broadway?

EXCLUSIVE: Will Robert Zemeckis’ 1985 classic Back To The Future become the latest film to get a Broadway stage production? I’m told that Zemeckis is in early talks with his co-writer Bob Gale and the film’s composer Alan Silvestri to explore a stage transfer. A stage musical would be an intriguing way to reintroduce a franchise which, over three films, grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide. Zemeckis’ ImageMovers would be involved if this goes forward. The time travel film, which starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, holds up as well as the other live-action films Zemeckis directed. I’m still pissed that Universal scrapped the theme park ride based on the film. Silvestri, by the way, composed the music for such Zemeckis films as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump and Cast Away.

 x 1,000,000

Hehe, I don't really care if it happened. I wont see it, but I really don't care either way.

I am also a musical theater geek but I wouldn't want to see BTTF turned into a Broadway show.

Deloreans can't go 88mph on stages, therefore no Delorean; meaning it will suck...

The musical version of Sunset Blvd had a pretty awesome car chase scene.

But yes, this will still suck.

Sounds like an interesting idea for a stage show. If it happens, I hope its a traveling one. So it could come up my way.

A BTTF Broadway show could very well begin a chain reaction that would unravel the fabric of the space time continuum and destroy the entire universe!

And that's the best-case scenario. :wow:

So in other words; this is a lame idea :down

I'm pretending this news only exists in a timeline where Biff has stolen the Sports Almanac again.

He would have exhausted it's usage by now, since it only had records until 2000.

Hey danoyse I likke the idea. Plus we have no clue if it will happen or turn out. For all we know it could be a good show.

I've seen enough movies-turned-musicals on Broadway, and besides the extremely rare exception (Billy Elliot, for example), it's almost always a bad idea.

And yes, I saw Spiderman on Broadway. That show had a dance number with spiders in high heels.

How can they have the flaming tire tracks on stage?

Well I won't be so quick to judge. When we don't have anything to go by. I rather see what they can do.. and judge it more evenly once we got actors/story/footage to go by.

How do you have a car chase on a stage?

Front half of the car facing the audience, chase footage projected on a screen behind it.

They did it old black-and-white movie style, so it worked.

This? Not gonna work.

Because I think it's an awful idea.

This is my favorite movie. It's been my favorite since I saw it on opening weekend in 1985.

And one of the things I love about this movie (and the entire trilogy) is that they never tried to tack on too many sequels, they've pulled a George Lucas and made a bunch of stupid changes to the DVD version, and how they've adamantly insisted that there wouldn't be a remake.

But they're going with this? Just...

As much as I love BTTF, I'm a huge musical theater geek. And we have way too many musical versions of movies that just don't work, and never should have been tried in the first place.

I just hate to see Back to the Future working on stage. I don't want to see a musical version (and I love musicals).

Can't they just leave it alone??

the musical version of Marty playing guitar while singing about singing johnny b goode? sign me up.
