Yeah, some of us just don't want to get the uber cheesy parts. Everyone wants powers and costumes. So far the only thing some people don't want to see on here, is the 'Captain' in Captain Cold, and a guy that chucks Boomerangs. That's still leaves over 90% of Flash's rogues gallery no one complains about.

Speak for yourself! :argh:

no captains. nuff said. i say no "The" either. he's just "flash" now.

I do hope they go full cheese for at least one villain, I think Cold or Trickster would be up for that. Handled correctly cheese is a glorious thing.

Out of those two, Trickster all the way. I think Captain (YES, CAPTAIN) Cold could be played fairly straight. You play Trickster straight and it's like... what's the point? :o

I hope they keep Flash light, with the rogues unchanged.

They probably won't though.

But then why do the Flash at all?

Well, duh. The Trickster has to be cheese to the core.

We're not about to go into baseless pessimism mode here, are we? Because between here and the BvsS forums we're starting to run out of fun threads.

Because in the grand scheme of things Flash still has to mesh well with Arrow. The tone can get lighter, but it still needs to feel like it's all part of the same universe.

Well I think it's going to depend on how strict you are in regards to the term "light"... Lighter than Arrow, especially initially with all the killing? Sure. Barry's a different sort of guy than Ollie, and that's going to extend to his heroics. The writers have talked all about that sort of thing.

But as light as The Flash has sometimes been presented in a sort of saturday morning cartoon context? Probably not. I think they're going to play on his CSI status alot.

I do hope they don't have Flash operate almost entirely at night like they did in the 90's show. I hated that he almost never did anything during the day.

Way I figure it, Deadpool and Punisher are in the same universe, so they can get away with the shows being quite a bit different from each other in tone whilst keeping in the same universe.

If you can have Rocket Raccoon and Daredevil in the same cinematic universe, you can have a light Flash show and a serious Arrow show.

That's how the comics do it after all, with wildly different tones for different books, and nobody complains that the books don't 'mesh'.

I hope the show will explore the villain side of things. If thanks to the Flash being so overpowered, we get villains working together to occupy him, we need places where they hang out. So we definitely should get a villain bar. A Doctor that treats wounded villains. And a tailor that fixes suits and makes new ones for the next freak in town.

And humanize them, make them different from the murderous thugs Arrow deals with. They should be your typical down on their luck crooks, who use their powers for crime, but try to avoid killing people.

Also, I consider it a huge missed opportunity that there was no animated Flash tv show, that would've been awesome

Is there a reason why there's no Justice League cartoon right now...? or Superman?

wait for the movies to be hits, and watch the cartoons show up. i really doubt they can top the timmverse versions. young justice came close, but they canceled it since it wasn't too kid friendly or something

Good cartoons rarely last nowadays.

I'm over the whole situation. I'm not going to get invested in these things only to be screwed over by inconsistent scheduling and eventual cancellation. No thanks.

Right. They usually make shows after the movies come out.

And I guess Man of Steel wasn't really a big thing with kids, considering it was pg13.

ding ding ding. hit the nail on the head. the reason the good shows don't last is because today's kids aren't interested, and if they aren't interested, then they aren't getting their parents to buy the toys, which means the studios aren't making money off the shows. canceled. retool the show to appeal to kids, and guess what? merchandising sales up. marvel does the same. disney does the same thing cn does. it's all about money.

How many times it has been said that what works in the comics doesn't necessarily works on live action, Arrow would not be this good if it was like the comics. Anyway, like some have said, the Flash will be lighter, he's not going to kill criminals like Arrow and should have more humor of course, but is not going to be too comic-booky either:

On whether or not "The Flash" introduce even more DC characters into the TV universe, much like "Arrow" has:

Kreisberg: In the same way that "Arrow" was conducive to bringing on characters like Deadshot and the Huntress and some of the more grounded people, hopefully with "The Flash" there's a way to bring on some of the more fantastical characters, that will probably still go through the grounding lens with which we view everything. But we could tackle some of the bigger villains, and possibly heroes. There's a hint of a major character in the pilot.

I don't see the point you're making. I don't think there was anything about Young Justice that couldn't appeal to a younger audience.
