Is that the real deal? The mask/helmet design doesn't look half bad.
I think the question who should be asking, more so than costumes and Wally West, is classic Rouges or N52 Rogues?

I don't understand why if Detective West is black, Wally has to be.
That's like saying black people can't have kids that aren't black. Wally could be adopted, his mother could be white, there are all kinds of possibilities.
He MUST be a redhead though. Regardless of his race.

I doubt it means anything. I'm sure Berlanti/Kreisberg/Johns already have plans for how that should look, and hopefully it doesn't look... like that.
The West family must have a thing for adopting little white kids in this version.

Doubtful they will keep the red hair if he is black...kind of like what's the point. It'd look kinda weird.
Black Wally West will suck just because he will be black?
Speak for yourself.
Wally isn't defined by his race.

They believe very much in giving back to the community.![]()
Black people can have naturally red hair, but it does look strange. A guy like that comes into my work sometimes.
Hell be fine. Even a Barry new to his powers could dodge a pipe being swung at him by a thug.

Wally is about as defined by his race as any other character just as much as the fact that he is humanoid in appearance...it's all part of what makes him up as a character. So yes, race is a defining attribute for him.
The only time Flash would be in danger from someone wielding a pipe would be if the attacker was as fast as him. From flash's viewpoint it would look like anyone attacking him would look like he's standing still, and easily avoided. Any non-super-speed character could only hit him with a huge amount of luck. Flash's speed is his armor.
I think that is inspired by his look in Injustice. I'd be fine with it to be honest since I'm already accustomed to seeing the style in video games.

Really? I've never really seen it brought up. It's just kinda...there like Barry's blonde hair or Bruce's blue eyes.

Agreed, but both are inappropriate for the character in general.
You're stretching here. There is nothing about Wally that requires him to be Caucasian. Nothing of significance would be lost if he underwent a race change. Wally is not a character who is (even partially) defined by his race. I don't think Barry is either, but he's already been cast.
