Arrow The Barry Allen/The Flash Thread - Part 1

His casting always seemed like a kinda boring choice to me, I don't hate it, but I think Burton could've cast the movie better with the two leads.
As for Trickster, I think he should be played entirely as a joke, if any of Flash's rogues shouldn't be an actual threat it's him. save the genuinely threatening aspect for characters like Thawne. I think Trickster is the kind of villain they should use to lighten things up a bit after having a dark/depressing episode.

Basically it should like the Trickster'Flash moment from JLU. Except the show can build up to that type of moment, where Flash shows sympathy for the guy.

Also, I hope they don't have the Flash do all night superheroics. That's Batman's thing. Arrow is closely following that. But I hope this changes with the mask.

I can understand why. It's easier to hide imperfactions with the costume in night shots AND costume look less ridiculous in the dark than in the daylight. But with superspeed, which will require a lot of CG, I am hoping more superheroics in the daytime!

Fingers crossed!

Same. I think the flash works very well in daytime superheroics

but Jack Nicholson's joker was just a poor man's version of Jack Nicholson trying to act.

Yeah sometimes the guy seems to be just phoning in his performances, but then he does something like "About Schmidt" and you get why.

Thing is most of his performances are "Jack Nicholson" playing a character. Unlike great actors who play the character.

We're going off topic.:woot:

I alway hated Jack's Joker for that reason. He's not Joker to me. He's Jack acting like Jack

Whoa, hey, screw you guys, lol, I thought he was an awesome Joker. His performance was great, and no, I don't believe he just played himself in that role. I love Jack Nicholson, in fact, I love him in most the things he's in, he's an all around terrific actor, IMO, and a scene stealer in anything he is in. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest is fantastic, and is the closest to how he is in real life, he's said. I think Jack was very much the comic book Joker when he played the role, if anything the Joker in the comics may be too much like Jack sometimes - I don't see any problem with casting a perfect guy for the part.

Not that he is the ONLY person that can ever play him, because there are a few other guys who could do him justice, but Jack is one of the all time greats. From the minute he did The Shining people should have known he'd make a great Joker. :word:

I think people maybe underrate his Joker because of how BIG he is - he's like Coca Cola or something, just part of the film vocabulary for a lot of people.

Agree with this, hope it most of the superheroics happen during the day, that was one thing I HATED about the 90's show, almost everything seemed to happen at night, I blame it on that weird wannabe Burton thing the show slipped into now and then.

I agree, I was not a fan of the imitation Burton stuff for the show, that's actually the reason why I never checked it out for as long as I did, it just looked like it was trying to cash in on the '89 Batman with a lot of stuff - but I digress, it was a terrific show regardless.

Kind of like how the Arrow take on Barry seems to be trying to cash in on TASM a bit in an odd way (what with Gustin and all), but that said, I'd prefer The Flash draw more from Spider-Man as far as influences o than Batman, but that is just how the character is, IMO.

Future of the Flash

Pedowitz pronounced himself "bullish" on the much-discussed The Flash project moving forward. Arrow showrunners Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns already introduced the DC Comics character Barry Allen/The Flash in Arrow's two-part winter finale, which ended with a cliffhanger for the character. Pedowitz added that "rather than try to squeeze in a spinoff" he'd like to see a Flash series launch "with a bang like we launched Arrow."

So uh....looks like Wally's back in the comics and he's still white...

WALLY'S BACK?! *runs to Midtown Comics*

So now, this Flash show is all i have to be excited about for a while. Huge letdown today

I hear that. :( That was my exact thought - "at least we still have The Flash show to look forward to this October".

Very sad. I'll be 26 by the time the Man of Steel follow up comes out!

26? I'll be 29! Damn it, DC! :( Ah well. Things should be good on the TV front. Looking forward to Constantine as well. Not so much GCPD.

Why are you guys bringing your ages into it, as if the film is being delayed for 5-10 years?

It's an extra ten months, folks. It's not the end times.

ill be [BLACKOUT]37[/BLACKOUT] when it comes out. After this announcement, I hope wb throws a lot of money at the Flash tv show. Breaking Bad has shown that cinematic quality can be reached on tv. If The Flash has great writers, it should be included in the MOSverse
