Isn't he going to be DOCTOR Barry Allen in Arrow? This dude looks like he's still in high school.

Me either. As long as he can act it's all good. But going by looks alone, I don't buy him as a doctor or whatever.

I see El May is doing his "I SAID IT FIRST!!!" shtick on twitter. :o

If the Arrow team sees something in him, then I'm willing to give him a shot, but I wish he at least could conceivably pass as being older than a teen.

He looks really young. More Wally west than Barry allen

Congrats to everyone's least favorite candidate.

If they all see something in him, I guess we'll have to trust them.

The Arrowverse's Barry Allen is two years younger than Roy Harper.

Probably makes Roy feel bad about his life choices that someone younger is already a scientist AND a superhero. :o

Some of the articles describe him as an "assistant forensic scientist" Guess that lets him be younger?

I guess. Ugh. I was always so impressed that they went with someone over 30 as the lead of Arrow. Now, this... this just feels very Central City, 90210.

BARRY ALLEN is a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.

I'm willing to give him a shot in the role. Now the question is how will he look in the suit.

Considering the age group he's in and his look, I actually probably would've been okay with him as either Avengers' or DOFP's Quicksilver.

Since he was in Glee, I guess he would be perfect if they needs someone to sing. :oldrazz:

Aww man, devastated about the choice, I agree he's just too young. Now I don't want the Arrowverse to be in the DCCU. I don't want to be the same age as the Flash!!

"Devastated" seems a bit excessive. :o

But considering the general reaction to Affleck a few weeks back, I guess it could be worse...

I always get a kick out of people on twitter thinking they can tell the folks working on these projects their own business. "Oh you cast ______ instead of _____?! Get your **** together, Warner Bros!!!" Hey, here's the thing. They know more than you do. They do. They've been actively looking at actors while you've been sitting at your keyboard and sticking to one choice like glue, just because they kind of look like the part. If they cast an actor, it's because they had what they were looking for, and right now we're in no position to tell them they're wrong because we've seen NOTHING. Deal with it.

Are those rumors that Arrow's set in the same world as Man of Steel still likely? Well if so, I guess the age thing might even out when the Justice League movie rolls around??

I gotta say I'm disappointed. Was hoping for the guy from Hatfields and Mccoys. This actor looks very young and does not seem heroic. I can't really see him fitting into the Arrowverse. Also he has a very youthful look that is not a good fit for Barry. This is the first opportunity for The Flash on television since 1990 and the best they can do for this character is a television actor from Glee? It's just so underwhelming. Even Hawkeye in the Avengers who no one even heard of outside of Avengers readers got a good some what established film actor to portray him. However The Flash specifically Barry Allen arguably the most iconic of The Flashes that has been around since the Silver Age in the 1960s; he gets this treatment. I will watch because I'm an obsessive Comic book fan, but I just hope that he somehow does the role justice.
