The Dark Knight The Batcave: The Official Thread

That's how I'd like to see the batcave :woot:

That shot of Bruce in the outfit, slouched in the chair, thinking...should definitely be in this franchise in one way or another. I just love it.

I'd like to see it modernized to a point. As long as he can access the Cave via the grandfather clock or something I will be very happy.

Here's an interesting thought: If the Manor is still being built, how will he have power for his lights, TV screen, computer, etc...

from what i know the Cave has its own power source, its independent from the power thats being used by the Manor.

As long as there are no manties, I'm all for it.

I actually kind of dig the low grade batcave of BB.

The less B+R/Shumacher the better, keep it simple.

All he needs is a few computers, a flatscreen on the wall, a gym(Weight set), and a hospital table and first aid stuff. I don't want to see a BatJet hanging upside down in the cave or a giant T-Rex.

I'd like to see the Batcave all set up and ready at the beginning of the movie. We don't need to follow every f'in step he takes in his Bat-life. Before the end of this movie series, it will have gotten old real quick to have the Batcave FINALLY complete by move #5.

"Well, Alfred we finally got a driveway for the Batmobile. It only took me 10 years to fabricate. Think of all the computers and down time were wasted from all the dust and water my car's truck tires kickup on landing and takeoff. Now we can finally get a big screen computer so I'm not squinting all the time to make out details and objects on these 3 little 12" moniters. I mean we can't rush into crime fighting. We have to slowly build an arsenal to combat crime. If it takes 6 years to get a security system installed, at least it didn't take 7, right?"

"Indeed sir.....<walks away>......moron!"

I'm not really sure what needs to be done. If I was Nolan I'd be scratching my head and thinking ****, we said he'd make some improvements in the south east corner, now what do we do? I prefer Batman concentrate on fighting crime than getting the cave all snug and flashy. Just needs to haul in some crimelab equipment and car parts.

I agree, it needs to be simple and needs to feel like it could be done. I'm interested to see if they keep the entrance the same... i.e. by jumping through the waterfall... it's a cool concept but I think it will get kind of old.

I want to see a computer, lab of sorts, and a training area with weights, etc. That's why I like the pics that I previously posted because Alex Ross made the cave look so simple. I love that.

Agreed

Laptop, mini fridge and bowflex. Batcave = complete

Another good Alex Ross interpretation

That super-computer looks awesome. Screw what anyone else says. Bruce keeps up with technology to best help him in fighting crime.

Ain't no use for a damn laptop. :down :o

I think it's obvious we won't see the cave in this one, except maybe towards the end. I think Bruce will have a downtown location for the cave. If he's living in a penthouse apartment, why would he have his gear all the way outside of the city? It would take half an hour or more for Bruce Wayne to get to the cave and change into Batman, then another 20 minutes to get back into the city.

I'm pretty sure he'll have a command center somewhere in the penthouse or in the same building. In the comics when he had his apartment he had a scaled-down cave in the city. I think that will be the case here.

I just don't want to see a giant penny or all the cartoony crap.

labs, computers, garage for the bat-vehicles, costume place, accesory and weapon area, etc. nothing extravagant like a giant penny, though. that would be kinda silly, no offense.

The giant penny is supposed to have been part of some crazy caper... don't remember if it was a Two-Face or a Joker gig. But again... that was in a time when Batman's world was full of absurdities like that. No filmmaker whose name is not Joel Schumacher will go near that stuff, and its probably better that way. I love the giant penny - IN THE COMICS. In the movies, I dunno.

Since this film seems to have certain echoes of No Man's Land, wouldn't it be nice if Batman had a number of small "Batstations" in hidden locations around the city?

If Bruce is smart, he'd invest in a water jet cutting machine to make batarangs, instead of making every one by hand. Each batarang would be identical with a tolerance smaller than the thickness of a human hair.

Having said that however, there is some psychotic romance to making your weapons by hand.
