Well if I was doing an older Batman then I would choose one of the following actors for bat man.

Jim Caviezel

Jon Hamm

Timothy Olyphant

For a Younger Batman I would choose the following actors:

Matt Bomer

Theo James

Charlie Hunnam gave one of the worst lead performances I've ever seen in a movie I caught on The Movie Channel a while ago. It was called The Ledge, and it just came out last year, but man, were his line deliveries distractingly bad. The other actors in the movie (Patrick Wilson, Terrence Howard) were fine, so it's not like it was just a director issue. I remember not liking him in earlier roles either, so I'm starting to think the guy simply struck gold with his role on Sons of Anarchy and really isn't a very talented/versatile actor. As such, I wouldn't be thrilled with him being cast as ANY major superhero, tbh.

I've seen Hunnam in Sons of Anarky and he was decent but I'll never be able to forget how utterly dreadful he was in Green Street.

Please, Jim Caveizel will never play Batman, Superman or any superhero character. Can we please stop bringing him up? He had a shot 12 years ago... not anymore.

I think going for a young batman would be a mistake. The actor would likely seem over his head following bale.

In a perfect world Jon Hamm would indeed takeoever.

Yeah, I don't know that a younger Bats is the way to go either, but some of the names being brought up just look TOO old (Caveizel). Hamm still might work, though he'd have to seriously hit the gym.

I disagree. Why do we want Batman to be a grandad by the first movie when we should all grow old together as one? Before the movie skips 8 years ahead or gets rebooted again?

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is totally Bruce Wayne material, imo. He's one of my faves for an older Batman, after Jon Hamm of course.

Sooo Jon Ham 41, Olyphant 44, and Cavizel is grand old age of 43...

My favorite story btw was Frank Millers Dark Knight, so I am biased towards an older batman but I understand younger fans wanting a youngish batman.

And he's got a good look for the character.

I agree with pick as a possible, definitely has a menacing cold-blooded look and still pull off the playboy. That show Hell on Wheels had some great acting. Common proved to me that he could carry dramatic roles as good as most other actors.

Yeah. The acting is solid. And he's in good shape for the role.

He would make sense as an action hero.
