The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 3

I still would like Tobin Bell as Freeze and Keifer Sutherland for Clayface.

Gordon is obvious, and has been said a thousand times.

I really have no clue who would make a good Batman or Robin. I'm still stumped on it, and I haven't seen one suggestion that has popped out to me, yet.

If Fassbender was Batman he'd never be Bond infact its same with Cavill now he's Superman he'll never get to play Bond. I'm sure of Bale hadn"t have been Batman he'd have been Bond. I think when u play a character that's so huge its hard to be accepted in another iconic role there's only a handful of people who've been able to play more than one iconic character.

To be fair, some of us were suggesting Fassbender for roles like Batman and Green Arrow well before he was even cast as Magneto. I've always thought he was perfect for either of those roles, and while I've dropped the notion that we could get a serious GA movie anytime soon (which was the big one I was pushing him for at the time since we already had a great Batman), I won't give up on the notion of him for Bats in the reboot until the part gets cast. Because ever since I was aware of his existence, I've thought him perfect for it.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Green Arrow (and Aquaman, too, I think). People were saying that not long after 300.

I think you're right about this. I actually think Fassbender suits Bond more than ANYONE before him. I feel like he was born to play this role, especially as he gets older it becomes more clear to me. So maybe he deserves a shot at that more than Batman. Since he's already a comic book character at the moment, maybe he shouldnt hog all the good roles lol.

In that case, Sam Witwer is still my next choice. He's getting a mixed reaction here on the boards when his name is brought up for Bruce but i dont care. I dont like many of the other suggestions for Bats.

Have they said how many more Bonds Daniel Craig has in him (not that I am trying to push him out)?

Fassbender would be a good choice for Bond unfortunately I don't care for Bond movies (loved Casino Royale mind).

I don't know I think Witwer's a pretty awful actor tbh but thats just me. I think Bats is gonna be harder to cast this time around.

I believe Craig signed on for 2 more after Skyfall. And Skyfall looks great btw, it looks like the Bond movie that i wanted to see after Casino Royale.

And yeah it's going to be real difficult to find the right guy for Bats. Before these more obscure names started popping up, i wanted either Fass or Gosling for the role. And it's looking unlikely. They'll probably have to go through a ****load of auditions from unknown actors. It'll take some time but they better hurry their ass up if they want to get Justice League off the ground.

I'd rather see Fassbender as Batman than Bond. Daniel Craig just signed on for 2 more Bond movies not that long ago, so I don't see him vacating the role any time soon, and I certainly don't want him to anyway. Batman has a vacancy NOW, and Fassbender's at the perfect age (and stage of his career) for it at the moment, imo.

Yes for sure, but what are the chances of him taking the role?

Considering the fact that he's still willing to do stuff like X-Men and Assassin's Creed along side his more "prestigious" projects, I'd say if he were offered, he'd probably do it. He's like Christian Bale - he thinks this stuff is cool, and when it comes to superheroes in the public eye, they don't get cooler than Batman. He's the guy everyone wants to play.

God i hope you're right. The only thing im really unsure of is the whole Magneto thing. He'll be playing a Marvel super-villain and a DC super-hero pretty much at the same time. And that's what worries me. Will he feel "been there, done that". Two very different roles but we dont know what he's thinking or if WB want an unknown.

I think the roles are different enough that it wouldn't be an issue, but you're right - we don't know what WB is looking for in all this. Hell, we don't even know what kind of reboot they want to do yet.

If Fassbender quit the role of Magneto, then I would be OK with him being Batman.

I don't see why it would be a problem. 2 completely different characters from 2 separate universes with absolutely no connection whatsoever.

Are they 100 % completing a trilogy for X-Men?? Cuz maybe they'll end it after the next one.

Yeah. But I just find it tacky for some reason.

I just want 1 actor to be identified with the 1 role. But that's honestly just me.

I think right now they're banking on the good word-of-mouth from FC translating to bigger box office for the sequel. So if the sequel only does roughly as well financially as First Class, that could very well be the end of the franchise in its current incarnation (The Bryan Singer Model).

I know it sounds a tad selfish but in a way im hoping it doesnt do that great financially so Fass can be done with it all together and move over to Batman lol. He should be finished filming sometime next year, and they'll probably film Justice League in 2014 so it would match up nicely.

Just came out of Dredd. Dammit, Karl Urban needs to be the next Batman! :D

Well, I can't say I agree as I love the Charles and Erik that First Class established, so I'd love a whole series centered on those two...but I really think audiences are just growing tired of that particular universe in general (especially now that Avengers has shown them just how fun a superhero group can be), and the franchise is 5 movies in already, so the chances of finding a new audience for it at this point is minimal. As much as I look forward to the sequel, I just don't see it doing much better at the box office than FC, and if that happens, I'd imagine a complete re-imagining of the X-Men cinematic universe is probably on the horizon.

And I need to see Dredd ASAP.

How about a Batman Beyond with Clint Eastwood as an aged Bruce Wayne?

Yep. We need a GREAT X-Men trilogy and we could get with this director and those two guys in those roles. As for the franchise and the box office, have some faith my friend, just look at how well Batman has done. And honsetly this next X-Men film is the only comic book movie I'm really excited about.
