The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

I really don't get why this film is already so polarizing.

Comments on the 3 minute clip can often be brutal on social media. I mean, damn.

If he did have the long chin, I think someone would've mentioned it by now.
To be fair, all people are really saying is that his face is super ****ed up.
They haven't mentioned what the scarring exactly looks like or necessarily where it's the worst or where it is on the face.

Based on this film - would anyone who's seen it expect a sequel to take place immediately after or could there be a decent time jump?

With 2 tv shows confirmed and multiple we don't even know about in development, i think there will be at least a 1-2 year time jump. Patitnson will get a lot of character evolution. he is bound to appear on HBO for sure

Yeah I'm expecting Bruce Wayne and Batman both to appear in the GCPD show. I mean how could you write an entire season set in Reeves' Gotham and not have Bruce or Batman show up at least once? I think Rob will have a guest starring role in one or two episodes

I'd love a Batman series to have Batman in his prime.

The Nolan series never really had a "prime" Batman, as he was still a rookie when he quit at the end of the second film.

Snyder's Batman was past his prime and never got a solo film anyway.

Seems like in media, whether it's gaming or film or animation - writers don't know how to write a great Batman story without it being at the bookends of his career, usually favoring early days, which this film falls under.

It’s not. Snyder fanboys are coping hard. That’s all.

This feels like a cope too, though.

Snyder fanboys can't NOT mention Snyder.

You have to have your head in your sand to believe this film doesn't have a lot of people against it, due to Robert Pattinson not being taken seriously.

Many also think this film is a reskin of Nolan.

I'm not saying it's everyone.

But a good chunk of general audiences are skeptical of this film.

Do any of you guys have detailed ideas of what this Joker's face could look like?

Have there been any specific leaks about the movie? I know there was a legit plot leak on Reddit a few months back but it was very general and we've seen most of it in the trailers.

Honestly? For better or worse my biggest leak curiosities are so specific that I've managed to steer clear of that stuff although I am aware of a few key plot points

This movie is also tracking to open with a 170 mil opening weekend. If it's good then word of mouth will be just fine.
To be fair, that was one person saying that secondhand. I certainly wouldn't take it as gospel.

I'm thats fair. I'm still more inclined to believe this movie is going to do just fine.
Now that I agree with lol. I'm thinking $130m OW right now but it could EASILY go significantly higher, especially if it's great/gets a Joker-level audience reception.

Yeah online chatter is not a true representation of General Audiences expectation and experiences.

Nobody, literally nobody says this if the online chatter is positive.

If it's polarized a bit with those in the know - then I'm sure general audiences have skepticism of their own.
