BvS The Batmobile Thread - Part 1

Thoughts on the new Batmobile?

  • Wow! The Batmobile I was hoping for and in my dreams.

  • Not bad. I need to see it in action.

  • Meh.

  • I prefer the last batmobile.

Eh, not crazy about it just yet. Only batmobile to tickle my fancy after the Tumbler is the one from the new Arkham game.

Ironically, a lot of people are reminded of the Arkham Knight Batmobile when they see it.

I don't care what anyone says... The AK car is just overly designed and friggin UGLY. (drops smoke bomb and shoots grapple gun to get away from the angry mob)

From comic book movie's site.

:cmad::cmad::cmad::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh: You. You shut your ****e mouth!

:oldrazz: I like it thought honestly. :/ Just me.

Even in the very first picture Snyder released with the tarp on it, you can see the things attached to the fin(s) that look like some sort of shock or control arm.

I'm betting a nickle they swing into two different positions - down and away, up and in; that's my guess anyway...ailerons, not wings.

I'm pretty sure they just swing down and together to form the rear shell of the car, for when it's not using the jet. There will probably be a scene where it's driving along at cruising speed then suddenly needs to speed off, the back will open up revealing the jet engine firing up, and away it goes.

Oddly enough, the words I've been using to describe the AK car since I first saw it are "Boxey Busy". Haha

It is a very busy design; I don't hate it at all, but it seems they reached the "logical closure point" (ala Clerks 2) in designing it, but just kept going.

I'm sure it's gonna be awesome in the game, but it's very boxey with a lot going on there.

A grizzled and weary Batman probably wouldn't take the time to wash it. This is all on Alfred.

Not a big fan of the AK Batmobile myself, and I really don't see much similarity between that one and this.

What I perceive to be the jet exhaust nozzle is that large coffee can-sized protrusion visible on the back of the car, but I see where you're going.

I dont like the AK batmobile either but respect it for it's size and badassery. But yeah, it's too bulky, the cockpit is too far in front and small, and it more or less looks like a robotic pig on wheels. Still, it's massive and it looks indestructible like the Tumbler did.

I will wait for the movie before i pass final judgment but this BvS batmobile looks a bit too small and flimsy. A dune buggy wouldnt be my first choice of car in a movie where he gets to fight (or sorta fight - whatever) Superman.

A robotic pig? Please explain?

Ther'd be no choice in Earthly made vehicle that would be any better of a choice over any other in giving Batman an edge in fighting Superman, given the level of power Superman showed in MOS. Batman's tactics and ability to use what resources he has is what makes him a possible threat, not how big or intimidating his car is.

Nor will that armor save him. But it's a matter of aesthetics. A bigger batmobile looks safer and more powerful. And in the TDKR story it shot a couple of rockets at SM before he flipped it over. This looks too small to pack the punch that the Tumbler did. But then again nobody was impressed by the Tumbler at first sight either so like i said i'm withholding judgement until i see the film. But first impression is that it's a bit small, with exposed wheels and tyres (that was silly on the Tumbler as well) and with an even flimsier, over the top cockpit opening. Those "doors" look like two thin, flimsy sheets of metal.

That's just my first impression of it.

I think those fins are maybe some kind of spoiler or air-brake. Will be cool to see it in action.

Is it going to be that colour? It looks like it hasn't been painted. It's also looking a bit too much like the Tumbler for my tastes. I prefer something like the Batman 89 Batmobile. This one looks a bit military.

But...that "Batmobile" (as Dick referred to it) in TDKR was an actual tank; not a souped-up car or an armored car or the "he's in a black...tank" Tumbler, but an actual tank.
