If we're bringing up old cars, I have one here.
Just got to think about this Citroën now. The physical shape has a Batman feel to it. If they could create something bigger and more modern, from scratch (not an excisting car), and add armor.

I really liked the Tumbler, but I would like to see something more performance driven (no pun intended). Maybe something along these lines,

I think the plating is a little much, but I like the idea of having a car that car out perform and out muscle anything else.

Also, it doesn't have all the bat insignia stuff all over it. How could Wayne buy or manufacture that in secret? I giant car with rocket engine and his logo plastered all over the damn thing.

This but give it some fins off the back like the Burtonmobile and a more defined cockpit and we're set.

I love the Burtonmobile, it's the best damn batmobile in any medium, so I hope they draw very, very, VERY close inspiration from that.

I hate every batmobile that came after, and I especially hate the ****ing Tumbler. Thing's not even a batmobile. It's bull****.

It can LOOK like a damn batmobile AND still be "functional". Because hey, guess what....

NONE OF IT'S REAL OR "REALISTIC" AT THE END OF THE DAY.

So think on that. :D

Runner up for best batmobile would definitely have tp be the one from the animated series, season 4/Justice League. That batmobile was awesome and looked similar to the Burtonmobile yet was its own thing - PERFECT batmobile concept if they do it in a movie again, IMO. NEEDS to be done.

I really do love the "turbine/jet engine" look of the burtonmobile though. I would love it of that were somehow incorporated in there. Man, that design really is so perfect in many ways. God, I love it.

Beautiful. Pure ****ing Batman right there. Sums up everything about the character in all his coolness. It's dark, cool, sleak, artistic, lethal, and inspiring.

... And can't turn corners without use of a grappling line or drive of 50km's an hour. :O I love it, too. But the new one needs the sleekness and sexiness of that one and the sheer power and movement of the Tumbler.

That's the Batmobile I grew up with, but every time I see it I think about who ridiculous it would be to drive. Same with the tumbler I guess but it felt better because it was all power. The Burtonmobile felt like plastic to me for some reason. Personally, I want to see something like an armoured sports car. Something Wayne could outfit with drawing to much attention to the building process but also something plausible so it can be worked on and tuned. I hate to against the grain here, but please no fins. They always looked so tacked on and useless.

I'm not completely sure how the driver would see.

With Science! But now that I look at it, your kind of right. Maybe some kind of on board camera system projecting back?

Unnecessary gadgetry put in by Burton for a cool effect, and it was cool at the time.

It can and should be able to function just fine without that, IMO.

MUST have fins of some sort. Even if they are small. Preferably like the Burtonmobile fins. They are a must for me in some form. They're what make sthe batmobile, come on, man.

And I would opt for something close to the Burtonmobile as far as design goes but make it out of different materials, modern day ones so it doesn't look "plastic". If they built that exact car today withtoday's film materials it would look more metalic and less "flimsy" for sure.

Burtonmobile is every bit as plastic as the Tumbler. Most people are just still in the haze of Nolan's "movie magic" and we've already passed through Burton's, one day people will get that all are just as "fake".

I'd raise the cockpit and make some adjustments to that for sure, but it's not bad as a concept goes.

Yeah, I like it a lot. I know people are not big on the armored Burtonmobile look of it but I can dig it as a homage of sorts.

Same here, I think this is definitely the right way to go. It sums up all of the "lessons" learned with the previous films, IMO. It looks heavy duty like a bulldozer yet sleek and cool like a hi tech Bond car a la Burtonmobile. Just raise the cockpit, make a few adjustments, give it some small fin like things off the back (like the burton or animated car) and one of those jet engine flame spitting things on the back that all the batmobiles have had to date, and bingo, you got your batmobile. :D

they'll most likely go with the classic 90's animated series look since that seems to be the trend i'm noticing (smallville, arkham games, mainstream comics)

I think that was unnecessary. I remember the scene when Penguin hijacked the Batmobile it clearly did an impressive sharp turn without the use of a grappling line.

Have you seen the BTS for The Dark Knight Trilogy? They built the Tumbler for real, heavy duty chassis, metal plating. That "haze" might not be as thick as you think.
