Hehe, Batman's surfing. Must be a nod to the 60's series.

Meh. It's a good alternative, but the original design is better.

I have edited tha original art as some of your comments. what do you think

I like it, but the ears are too short.

EDIT- Here it is:
KydMT.jpg

The cape/cowl/symbol/gauntlets/gloves/boots should be a lot darker than they are IMO. And I still think he should have a larger belt.

Great job, though.

Not really focusing on the whole suit, but I thought the bat symbol being yellow/gold itself was interesting...

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it.

If WB/DC go with a grey/black Batsuit in the next Bat-film, they should go with something similar to the New 52 Batsuit.

My list in order would be as follows:

1-4 are the ones I consider 'good', after that things go pear-shaped.

  1. Batman Returns - the deco costume is fantastic. I loved that it actively went away from trying to show him as musclebound, which was always ridiculous with the rubber-style movie costumes. They took the good '89 suit to a more streamlined and better-designed extension.
  2. The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises - What function giveth, function taketh away. The ability to turn his head really is a godsend and allows Bale to move far better in the costume. At the same time, this suit does lose a little of the mystique of Batman. Absolutely perfect for the Nolanverse though.
  3. Batman Begins - Aside from a few poor shots where the suit looks out-of-shape, this is a very strong suit.
  4. Batman 89 - This one really had the most impact on the comics and the public's view of Batman. Good design, but not as functional as Returns.
  5. Batman & Robin ('Normal suit') - Alright, with the exception of the ridiculous over-sculpted abs, codpiece and nipples, I do like the batsymbol on Clooney's suit. The cowl is well-shaped too. A little too blue in some lights.
  6. Batman Forever ('Normal suit') - Same as above. It's over-sculpted but the basic design is serviceable.
  7. Batman Forever ('Special suit') - Honestly I really dislike these action-figure driven suits. This is the better one though. It's too silver, but at least it strays from the body-builder sculpting.
  8. Batman & Robin ('Special suit') - Here's where it just gets loopy. The crazy silver sections are ridiculous - they look like boomerangs on his arm.

The 1940's suit is the best.

Let's face it, nobody would be able to fight crime wearing 100 pounds of rubber.

Although the film is awful, I always thought Clooney's suit in 97 had a good "black with a blue sheen" look that looked how I imagine the blue parts of the comic suit could look in real life. I thought when watching the movie, if they were making everything else in this so silly and cartoony, why could they not colour his body in grey. Then at least we would have seen an ok looking grey and blue (or blue-sheened) Batman in a modern movie once.

(edit - I've just rememberd, the only time I remember Batman being said in a story to be wearing Blue was in that Brave and the Bold cartoon, where Sherlock Holmes said they were the colors of a hero.

Well the B&R suit WAS mixed with blue, which is confirmed by its designers and rather apparent in many scenes, especially side by side comparisons with Burton/Nolan suits which were pitch black

I agree. The movie is trash but the costume design is pretty awesome, despite the nipples. Robin's suit was a cool mash of Robin/Nightwing and Clooney's suit was great. Glad you mentioned the color because it was very visually appealing and different from the previous suits. If the nipples were removed, cope was a little longer, eye-holes a bit smallers, and if there was a different actor in the suit (Clooney's jaw and facial expressions were silly and he did NOT take the role seriously which isn't his fault), we'd have a much more awesome design on our hands.

This is how I currently rank the batsuits, the list change from time to time.

1. Panther
2. Sonar
3. Returns
4. Clooney
5. '89
6. Clooney Ice Sonar
7. Begins
