Sci-Fi The Battlestar Galactica and Caprica Discussion Thread - Part 1

Cough, all these timeline Qs are answered in the last episode of 'Caprica'...

Or you can highlight this...

[BLACKOUT]The 11 year old kid Adama seen in Caprica? Not the same as Bill Adama from nBSG. It's his older half-brother, whom is killed in the final episode of 'Caprica' and for whom our Bill Adama is named for. Our Bill Adama being the first and perhaps only child of Joseph Adama and his secretary-turned-wife at the end of the show. They even show a flash-forward of a 4 year old Bill Adama with the blue eyes Olmos has via contacts throughout nBSG.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah, we established all that already. If you re-read my last post you'll see I was talking about a different timeline discrepancy, or rather, a potential one to be posed by Blood and Chrome (if that show ever happens):

[blackout]If the First Cylon War begins 6 years after Caprica (which it would have to, since it lasts 12 years and ends 40 years before the 2nd one), then that makes the REAL Adama extremely young during the war. He would've been 18 at the END of it. If he's any older than that in Blood and Chrome, (someone said he was supposed to be 19-20) then yeah - timeline discrepancy.[/blackout]

I thought Caprica was strong throughout. I bout the premiere on dvd almost a year before it premiered and I thought it was absolutely outstanding. I'll never forgive syfy for canceling it because I really feel like if it had survived it would have become the better series imho

Caprica had really bad marketing in the UK. It was Sky tv only and on at really oscure times. I think if they punted this outside to normal tv, the show would have got the attention (for the quility) it deserved. Alot of the attention Battlestar got was brand recognition and cool pew! pew! effects. Caprica didn't really have that going for it.

While I do feel Caprica was a bit rocky in the beginning, I definitely agree with that last part you wrote. The 2nd-half of the season was phenomenal and easily demonstrated the potential to surpass BSG.

I saw an interview with him on youtube and all of a sudden this high pitched british accent came out of him. I was like "Whaaaaaa?!" His American accent is outstanding.

That is always kind of strange. Like the first time I watched some Band of Brothers behind the scenes stuff. "Oh wow, I didn't know he was British. And him. And him. My god... they're ALL British! What great actors!"

His father's from Detroit, so his Lee Adama voice was basically an impersonation of his dad.

Never knew that. Still, he's very good at the American accent.

Did anyone else get annoyed when they would show scenes from the episode in the opening credits? I always turned away when they showed that.

Is Blood and Chrome still going to series, or are they really making that a web show?

Well, my understanding was that it started off as a web show, then Syfy wanted it on TV, but now it might go back to the internet.

"You brought them home, Saul."
"Not all of 'em."

Cut to: Me crying for an hour and a half. :csad:

One of my favorite tracks. I honestly feel McCreary's scores just got better and better with each season. This one replaced the S2 OST as my fave...until S4's came out, lol.

I loved that part on BSG! I need to watch Caprica now that it is on Netflix.

It's on Netflix now? Cool. I watched the pilot episode and the last episode to see how it ended. Maybe I'll watch the rest to fill in the gaps.

Caprica: took too long to get the ball rolling... but once it did, the show developed brilliantly, then it got cancelled.

Major spoilers in the event you haven't yet seen the show (but then why are you in this thread to begin with?)

16-bit BSG

That was pretty awesome Tango! Any info on Blood and Chrome out there?

BSG + Star Trek teaser music = Sawyer getting a massive erection :o:up:

I've been thinking the exact same thing. I've rewatched seasons 3 and 4 numerous times but have only watched the entire series through once. Hell, I've had Razor for years and have still never watched it. I needa get on that
