maybe weak was too strong a word. But a lot of the feeling of the show changed after the mini series, as well as a bunch of little things. One example being starbuck's hair. I know it's a little thing, but it's things like this that are good examples of premier greeness. Stylistically, the choice of hair made sense for the character, but it was just better when it was longer. Same goes for Adama's hair. The same thing can be said in ST: TNG with the spandex jumpsuits, which got phased out after a time for the collared less form fitting, but ultimately better looking uniforms, or Riker's beard.
Back to BSG, the mini series was all right, but I still don't watch it much, relative to the series proper, which improved on things greatly from the first episode of season one. Effects, music, lighting, and the overall feeling of the series proper improved greatly between the mini series and '33'.
That's all I was getting at. There's a point where a show matures... grape juice to fine wine. BSG made that jump between the MS and 33, and remained pretty steady on quality there after.
I think with B&C, that's what we are seeing... the premier MS in 10 minute drabs. Everything feels on for me, except for the Adama portrayal, which feels slightly forced, and I think that's only because of the writing. But all the secondaries are good so far, the atmosphere is right on (which isn't difficult, seeing that they already did 4 seasons worth) effects are on, and I couldn't really spot much of the 'completely' shot in CG aspects.
I'm hoping this show can have a resurgence and gets picked up. I just wish it wasn't delivered in 10 minute segments.
