The Best Movie Ever Made

IMO, out of the films that I've seen in my lifetime, "To Kill a Mockingbird" takes the cake as the best movie I think has been made. Maybe my opinion will change when I see more movies, but that remains to be seen. I loved Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch. His role is iconic and I really appreciate the choice to make the film in black-and-white. 2nd best IMO would be "City of God".

On second thought, I have to rescind my choice, for the same reason that I'm about to cite for To Kill a Mockingbird to be illegitimate. It's based on a book. Therefore it's not a "true" movie. Not one that grew from start to finish with the intent of becoming a film.

That's a rediculous statement if I've ever heard one. That means that movies like Jaws, Psycho, A Clock Work Orange, Fight Club, and countless others aren't "true" movies. There arew thousands of movies that are based on some kind of book or short story. A film is a film.
