Shaky cam is product of the times. A lot of action films (Taken, EoD) used it other than Bourne.

But it was Paul Greengrass' work on Bourne that popularised the technique.

Are you sure? That technique was being uses long before Greengrass' hit with the second movie.

It was, particularly on TV. I don't really understand the worship of Greengrass. I find the Bourne movies almost entirely stripped of charm or interest.

As do I . I felt the Bourne movies were kind of bland

The first was good, i thought, but that was not made by Greengrass. I saw the second one and it was boring, but I was going to give it a re-watch to see if i missed something, as folk were going on about them.

The first one was good. The second one I've seen once, made the mistake of paying money to go watch that. The third one, no such mistake was made, didn't go to the movies to see it, I eventually saw it on cable.

It worked out just like it should have. A Bond pastiche comes out, people are wowed, then the sheen wears off and it's all a dreary mess with really bad camera work and editing. Followed the same path as the novels I'm afraid, came out gangbusters, got worse as they went along.

I agree, the first Bourne was decent, after that is was kind of 'meh'

Um, the Bourne movies copied the Bond movies. Bond is only doing what he's always done. If audiences didn't sleep on the Dalton movies, they would have seen Bond running around and jumping over rooftops in Tanjiers 20 years earlier.

On another note, Craig isn't going anywhere, he loves the role and the producers love him. Craig is hot property right now and the producers will fight to keep him on board.

As a contingency, I MUST see Michael Fassbender take over the role once Craig holsters the walther.

It may be either him or if he isn't involved in another film franchise Henry Cavill (EON likes casting guys they were considering for past films i.e. Pierce Brosnan, and Timothy Dalton). I think Craig will do a few more films until 2015 (or 2018). I can absolutely see him doing at least two more films.

I hope Craig does atleast three more after Bond 23.

Bond 23 inches forward

Yesterday Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York approved MGM’s pre-packaged plan of reorganization, which clears the way for MGM and its subsidiaries to emerge from Chapter 11 (i.e., bankruptcy). MGM expects their plan to go into effect by mid-December which will place Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum as co-CEOs of MGM and essentially wipe away nearly $5 billion in debt in exchange for majority equity in the new MGM.
“We only just got the news that we’re back on.” –David Arnold
MGM recently announced that new James Bond films starting with Bond 23 may be released every second year starting in November 2012. They also recently forged ahead on Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit by paying out (at least) $20 million to fund production of its two films.

Long-time Bond composer, David Arnold, recently commented to Film Music Magazine about the status of Bond 23 and what ideas he may have for the film saying, “I haven’t thought about it yet. We only just got the news that we’re back on. But ‘there’s many a slip twixt cup and lip’ So I will keep quiet until I get a script and then start writing ideas. I just hope the next one is as good as my favorites, as I think everyone does. And I’m always interested in what Daniel Craig brings to the part. But like most things with movies, if it ain’t on the page etc… All I can say is that I’m looking forward to a great script for it, alongside every other Bond fan in the world!”

Also Kate Winslet confirmed to The Daily Mail that Mendes is still on for Bond 23. “Sam is doing the next Bond film, all being well, and we’ll all be in England if that happens. It’s such a massive commitment for him and it’s not fair for him to commute backwards and forwards to New York from London. It would be impossible. The children will be there with me.” The Daily Mail also stated that Mendes and Bond producer Barbara Broccoli have already had meetings over casting. It should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it claims Broccoli saw the play Deathtrap twice to see Simon Russell Beale.

I've never seen his work, but apparently he's on the show MI-5.

I have every faith in the producers and directors ability to pick fine actors, so if they're scouting him, he should be pretty decent. Fingers Crossed!

Nice to hear things are slowly moving on. Hopefully we will hear morre stuff from eon in the next month or so. Once all the mgm stuff is finalized.

With any luck once the MGM crap is over and done with they can work harder at giving me more BOND!!!!!

Well they probably were still working on things while the money stuff came up.

yeah, when they are ready, they can go and get that hot russian spy Anna Chapman and put her in the movie to get some free publicity!

check out how hot she is as a Bond Girl! why get an actress when you can get the real deal! add more authenticity!
