BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread! - Part 4

I like how everyone completely ignored this post. Probably because it from reddit. Either way still cool tho.

Folks are probably trying to avoid being spoiled! I know I am. :yay:

Btw, I don't feel spoiled by anything shown in a trailer or discussed in an interview. Those are just teasers. I'm talking about having the whole plot laid out for me.

I feel the same way. If it's a trailer, interviewing, or piece of WB marketing I'm all for it. If it's some bloggers lame attempt to scream first (most "leaks" and set photos) I pass it by.

Out of every bs leak and fake reviews, I still go back to this one. 6 months ago. Before SDCC and many pics etc.

I tend to not believe it...

1. It seems so accurate because it fits with the rumours we've had - which were at the time that Hunter was playing Cale, McNairy was playing Olsen and Mulvey was playing KGBeast. We know one of these not to be true now.

2. There seems to be only one actual fight between Batman and Superman, when we know there are two.

3. It provides Batman no opportunity to say his variant of "I want you to remember Clark", which we also know is in the film.

4. It does not mention the Knightmare sequence.

5. It says nothing to explain the scenes in the film where we see Lex "controlling" Superman (where Superman bows down to him, stands passively behind him while he monologues about Doomsday, etc.)

7. No mention of Robin, Joker or Oracle.

8. There are at least two parties in the movie. The first one is where Clark interviews Bruce. Bruce arrives ALONE. The review implies he arrives with Alfred. He sees Diana there in a red dress. The review says that they flirt at this party. However, it is the second party where Diana is wearing a GOLD dress that Bruce appears to be dancing and flirting with her. This second party is not dealt with.

Just a few issues I have.

It feels like a safe guess of things which we already knew/were rumoured at that point.

If latest additional villain rumor is true do you think it would be done CGI or would Cavill do it?

The "latest" rumor is nothing new tbh. That's what a lot on here think. Superman clone gets worse and worse until he turns into Doomsday. And if it's true, Cavill will play him, 100% sure of it.

Evil clone Superman metamorphosing into Doomsday?

[YT]_uHBFiAnpZs[/YT]

That seems to me an attempt to reconcile the problem of having two cloned monsters in the film, i.e., two of them feels like at least one too many.

No, the more I think about it, I don't see evil clone Superman really working at all. I think that's a downright goofy way to give us Doomsday.

I do expect that Doomsday will be created somehow from a cloning experiment by Lex. Not sure how, but I strongly suspect it will somehow utilize Zod's corpse.

But anyway, it's time to let go of evil clone Superman as an explanation for Superman's more sneering, snarling side that we're getting glimpses of. FWIW I'm officially letting it go now. :woot:

Just a thought, but WHAT IF Lex uses one of his henchmen to experiment on, splices some of Zod's DNA into him, promising him he will have the powers of superman, will gain respect, etc etc, only the splicing doesn't take in a human and as a result we get Doomsday.

Who knows. Maybe the studio put this out to mis-direct?

Have any of the supposed private screening people even mentioned this? I don't think so. They mention Doomsday but not a cloned Zod/Supermn turning into him. As far as I know.

The PS reports are probably BS. Can't imagine they start PS 4 months out. Its a given someone will leak it.

Wasn't this rumor stated to be false?
We see how he evolves as part of Lex's plan to protect the world. Seeing the Superman we know, be gone, and then replaced with this reproduction is really going to make fans think of how we look at these super beings. It was especially interesting to figure out, how would you create Superman from Zod... then how would that involve into Doomsday

Some folks hate being spoiled others love it. Its what drives all those film sites.

This thread is a rumor thread but there is a vague line between rumor and spoiler .

Excellent point, there's some that do and some that don't. Very true.

As we saw recently with the TFA forum, we'll need both no-spoiler and spoilers-allowed threads to discuss BvS once reviews start to emerge from bonafide screenings, which presumably will be held for critics during the week prior March 25th.

3. Sorry but how do we know the "I Want You To Rememebr Clark"dialogue is in the film? As far as I'm aware that's never been confirmed at all. They did use it for the announcement but Snyder said that was just a way of telling people the idea of what they were doing not actually what they are doing.

Even reading some of the others it's like you've read done if the supposed other leaks and cone to a conclusion that is what's actually happening in the film.

Didn't there used to be a separate spoiler thread?

It seems like this is really more of a rumor/speculation and spoiler thread.

There were photos released during filming which make more sense now but speculating now on them on them might cross over to spoiler? Fine line it is.

I don't recall there being any prohibition on spoilers in this thread, but there is the spoiler tag as a general matter of etiquette. What sort of upset the apple cart a bit was reports (originating on reddit) of advanced screenings and claims of bonafide reviews from same; but I still don't recall a mod ever saying spoilers can't be discussed in this thread even if those claims had been confirmed as true.

It hasn't been an actual issue yet because everything we hear about possible spoilers is really just rumor so far. Comes time that we know for sure that the film is actually being shown to critics I expect at least one other thread will get created--I'll guess a spoiler-free one--for those that don't want to be spoiled and after March 25th haven't seen the film yet.

First of all, no one is saying this was the plot, but an early outline. Maybe this is from what Goyer turned in before Terrio came on. Plus, it was clearly written down by someone else from memory, so details probably got muddled or even just forgotten.

Also, this is an overview, not a scene for scene breakdown of the plot. It doesn't get down into the details.

And finally, you are referencing things I have never heard about. Two fights? The quote from TDKR actually being in the movie? Oracle?

Look, none of us are saying "This is exactly how the movie will play out". We aren't that dumb. But I think we are all leaning towards the outline being legitimately from the production and probably early on. Even Devin Faraci has stated it is likely things have changed from the copy of the script he got to the final movie, and he states he got a shooting script.

I just realized something today. John Campea keeps hammering away on this notion that BvS trailers "should be about Batman versus Superman," connecting this message with the reveal of Wonder Woman joining Bats and Supes to fight Doomsday in the form of a complaint that trailer 3 thus "revealed too much."

That in and of itself seems silly to me. And it is. Why be fussed about showing Wondy, really--especially via a scene that seems to have gotten fans so hyped about her role in the film? We knew that she's in the film, and that she'd surely join Batman and Superman for a big fight against a big bad at the end.

But as someone who has been trying to walk the line of avoiding any serious potential spoilers (mostly unsuccessfully)... such as, the reddit posters who claimed to have seen the film, and Faraci's report of a "fourth act"... but unfortunately still has not managed to avoid the basic sketches of those reports... it has dawned on me that Campea is probably just positioning himself to be in the "I told you so" camp if WB is to

assemble the entire JL, or most of it, for an even grander (than just trinity vs. Doomsday) final battle of some sort at the end against yet another foe beyond Doomsday.

I really, really hope that WB didn't panic with this film and feel that they had to play "catch up" with the MCU by trying to cram too much into this film.

I'm hoping that the core of the film is that Batman and Superman are pitted against one another in a great, epic fight that 1) underscores why the JL needs to form, and 2) introduces WW so that the core JL trinity is born.

I do hope that (as reported by Umberto Gonzalez) we will see a Watchmen style montage for the end credits that provides glimpses of the future JL (and I would love for that to include some glimpses of the JSA from the previous century). That would be very cool. And very brief cameos of Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, as has been reported from the start, will be fine. But that's all I want to see.

Anyway, it kind of clicked to me... that's why Campea keeps chanting the mantra of "the fans want this to be about Batman fighting Superman."

ITA. I heard Campeau just this week hammering that home.

Folks want to see a Batman v Superman film. Focused on them, developing their characters. Intense. Adding WW was OK, but if all these other characters are added it will dilute what could have been a great character driven film.

Ironically, at a time where stuffing more and more characters into a superhero film is de riguer, it might have been better had WB gone a straight BvS, no one else in the film.

I think, if rumors are true, it would have been better to market this as a Dawn of Justice film and save a pure Batman/Superman film for down the road in a few years.

You guys make it sound like every character is getting equal screentime. It's a bunch of bit parts. If they weren't superheroes, no one would be flinching at the number of characters in the film. Everyone just gets all tight because they happen to have powers.

I'm not, but then I am friggin everywhere on these boards lol I barely know anything of the story, just the visuals like trailers, tv spots and photos
