It's part of WB/DC's "No Parents" policy.

Thats just total BS. Im saying to think that my friend was right when he said superman and batman are not really opposites anymore. they share alot of similarities now.

Every time I think I'm out...

(sigh)

I liked Superman having both the Kents around too. I grew up with and loved the Carlin era books. But... I am also old enough to straddle the Pre-COINE and Post-COIE so I am aware of the previous close to FIVE DECADES where in fact the Kents were both dead by the time Superman had left Smallville. This isn't some radical departure. Originally in this aspect for longer than you and your friend have been alive, Superman shared the loss of the people that raised him from childhood.

I thought you were staying away from the BvS threads for a while Kypton. :sly:

My apologies. These threads go off in so many directions, it's hard to know where the most recent news is at. Thanks for the heads up.

just had a couple ideas, not sure if these have been discussed before but: perhaps in BvS the newspaper clipping Bruce gets in the mail saying "you let your family die" I always assumed it was from Joker, what if its not. What if Jason sent it to taunt Bruce about the Wayne Financial employees that were killed. Or even better (or worse for me as a Nightwing fanboy) we see Bruce on his cell phone talking to someone watching the destruction and he screams into the phone while watching what I'm assuming is a building collapse. What if he's on the phone with Dick Grayson who is in that building thats coming down. Jason would have even more reason of the message "you let your family die" this would be the second son Bruce has lost.

sorry if its incoherent at all, I'm very tried and trying to get this idea put out there before I forget any of it

I think Lex is responsible for that newspaper.

Too primitive for him. The easy answer is that it's a pissed off employee.

I want to believe it's Red Hood.
I would also be fine with joker knowing Wayne's true identity and just toying with him

I'd love that it was Red Hood. Btw, with that scene, does anyone else feel like that is the beginning of the movie? He is at a meeting, it wraps up, he notices the letter opens it, does that look up stare he does and then jumps right into the black zero flashback.

Directly involving other DC characters into the story (just for the sake of world building) is a bad idea, imo. They should be easter eggs. They shouldn't drive the story forward - unless they're actual characters.

I actually think the exact opposite but to each his own

I think it works better if they save the reveal for a later film. Wayne gets that message, think it's just an angry employee or family of a victim that sent it. We find out in the Bat solo that it was Jason or Joker. Or just Joker since they're the same character. :o

How long after black zero does BvS take place? Could it work out time wise to have Bruce rescue a young Jason Todd from the disaster and then in that time frame have him murdered?
Could be an interesting way to make the story flow

Only two years after. I really don't think Jason would have been there.

AWWW come on. He could have been swiping some hub caps in the panic:woot:

But seriously, 1 to 2 years isnt enough time for that idea so never mind

The last I heard BvS takes place 8 months after the Black Zero event.

Agreed.

Another user on IMDB has claimed to have attended a test screening in LA. His answers to questions are generally plausible, though they do not align with other supposed claims of the plot, so it's definitely a fun read. I'm about 6 pages in, and my money is on this being accurate, but that's just me.

Lies based off the fact that test screenings wouldn't be going on less than an month away from the movie. By that time, the movie should be done and the only things being worked on are the CGI and tech stuff. Also a lot of what he said he took from random scoop sites, I know that for a fact. Some are things i've seen users make up on here

I do like the idea
Joker killed Jason and burnt down Wayne Manor, with Bruce abandoning it for his lake villa. Just like Kingdom Come, where Two-Face and Bane destroyed Wayne Manor and Bruce became Batman full time, leaving the Manor in its decayed condition, and rarely leaving the cave.
