Sorry didn't mean to get off topic just one mans crazy fan theory. Carry on with the BvS info!

So I'm thinking the whole Batman branding is after the whole scene where Batman owns those people in the warehouse. I'm also wondering if that warehouse is by any chance the place. Or near the place where Bats and Supes fight.

I will pay someone NOT to have Amboyer be GL !

Prediction...bigger bomb than Reynolds...who looks to be great as DP.

Cute pics aside, I'm fine with that Amboyer guy. He's got the looks and he seems like a charismatic fellow. His body of work still has me very much doubting that he's playing the part, but if he does indeed, I've no problem with it.

hey Wolf, I respect your opinion but I just don't see it.

Are we looking at the same guy? I have not seen him in anything but have watched a few scenes he has on YT. I don't think that is lead actor material. I also don't think I could watch him for more than a few scenes, but sa la vee.

not my call... but if it was.. i'd hang up. !:cwink:

:hehe: Well, I admit that my opinion doesn't have many facts to back it up but is more of a blind faith - so far, as much as I'm concerned, their castings of Justice League characters have been spot-on, so I find it unlikely that they botched this one.

I also looked up that Amboyer guy and he seemed okay to me, nothing gave me a reason to make me think he'd be terrible and given the quality of those series and films he was in, I don't expect more than okay there. For example, Gal Gadot is only now showing the ability to act I'd never guess she had by watching "Fast and Furious" films.

I agree with your point about the rest of the casting which so far has been very good...

fingers crossed,

sorta like Amboyers eyes...:cwink:

sorry Dan...

:hehe: He kinda reminds me of younger Aaron Eckhart, actually.

If Dan amboyer has good chemistry with the other GLs then I'm okay with it. Also, would like him to play off Batman well. I just haven't seen him to know if he has that charisma. But he won't have to carry a movie

Oh, yeah, forgot about this... "GL Corps". I'd say that he is of perfect age, in my opinion. I was for an actor that is in his late twenties or early thirties to work well with Miller's Barry Allen, but to also be able to clash with Batman as an equal and not look like a kid lecturing a grown man.

I don't understand how this guy has gotten such a pass by so many when Gadot got raked over the coals despite a much more full resume of onscreen jobs comparatively. I just don't see WB and the DCEU brain trust not giving the GL role to a far more established actor if only to impart the project a lot more credibility in light of the results critical and financial of the Reynolds film. GLC is going to cost at least as much if not more than the previous GL film. Ensemble or not, I don't get the idea that this person is whom they will feel confident can help revitalize this franchise for the big screen to compete with other big tent pole block busters.

Let us indeed look at the Marvel property that could shed some light, HULK. Old Jade Jaws got not one but two chances in a short period of time relatively speaking, to be a successful franchise and has had three actors take the role of Banner. Eric Bana to Ed Norton to Ruffalo. Neither Norton or Ruffalo are picked from obscurity no names from the equivalent of a TV Land cable show no one watches. I have to give the WB brain trust a hell of a lot more credit than some folks around here and assume that Dan is an actor that wants to keep his name out there and is using this fanboy speculation to do just that.

Yeah, which is why I don't think he's playing the role, it was mostly an academic discussion on my part.

As for this guy getting the pass and Gadot not, I was concerned about Gadot, knowing little to nothing of her acting abilities, but was never a part of those who raked her over the coals as you put it and, again, in a very, very small possibility that this guy is playing GL, I wouldn't be upset about it, as in light of good castings (with Gadot seeming to indeed be a good one as well), I have learned to trust WB with their casting decisions. Not unquestionably, of course, but I don't see them screwing it up easily when it comes to JL members.

Guess by not watching that many films, I almost always have to trust a studio's choices :D

Off topic, has there ever been a human female GL?

There have been Elseworlds, one where Barbara Gordon was GL comes to mind and I supposed Jenny, Alan Scott's daughter, the super hero Jade, might count. In the pre-52 era she and Kyle were a couple and he gave her a ring. I am blanking on anything more specific and I have been out of comics since about 2008 so since then there may have been some new developments I am unaware of. Anybody got a better more complete answer for the man?

There is Power Ring in New 52 JL lineup. Not sure if that counts though...

They almost always give Superman to a relatively unknown actor...why not Green Lantern??

Because the last GREEN LANTERN movie was not well received. In all liklihood, they're going to need a "name" to drum up public interest.

The raking of the coals, as you put it, is because of how important Wonder Woman is. One third of the Trinity and the female superhero.

I think I'm one of the few who has not been bothered by any of the casting choices. It's all been 'wait and see' for me and so far I haven't been disappointed.

Don't know about this Amboyer dude, but maybe they want to make Hal the rookie and John the vet? Or he won't have to carry anything in JL and by the time GLC comes around he'll be seasoned from the team-ups and cameos.

I still see several negative YT comments (the latest BvS trailer) about Gadot, like she is just a model, she can't act etc.

I'm guessing the branding is Batman doing detective work trying to find out stuff about Superman, like his identity.
