BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread!

Because people are thinking with what we currently know that Lex and Metallo seem a bit more likely. Early on there was talk of drones and then later we found out about cyborg, and speculation has grown towards a Lex/Metallo film with Batman/Superman/some WW/and a few cameos.

Doomsday will always be known as the one who put down Superman. Him fighting (the original seven members of) or being associated with the Justice League as a villain is just a pipe dream.

I find that kinda sad, he seems like one of the Superman villains worthy of at least a few members of the JL taking him on together. You're probably right though, because of his association with Death of Superman they'll probably keep him in solo Supes movies.

Anybody think the solo Superman movie will follow that arc? It is one of the big ones in terms of source material.

Not based on any rumors, it makes the most sense to:

Have Lex and Metallo for BvS. Brainiac as primary villain in JL1. Darkseid primary villain in JL2. Doomsay as primary villain in solo Superman film. Lex of course can have some part throughout all these films as well.

Doomsday is a mindless beast. Although unstoppable, he will never be an archvillain of the likes of Joker, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Deathstroke, or even Darkseid. Sure, you might see him square up with parts of the Justice League or one-on-one with some of them, but I can never recall a time where he has faced them all at once in the comics (not the original 7).

That's the part I like, for a change. But I see what you're saying, his applications are limited, while a villain like Brainiac is a threat on multiple fronts.

Metallo is a more appropriate secondary antagonist than Doomsday when paired with Luthor. In a sense, because Luthor knows he can't outmuscle Superman, he has to use his mind to figure out how. Kryptonite is easy to introduce, and a great opportunity for a classic monologue that I'm sure Eisenberg is more than capable of.

Luthor discovers a second Scout Ship in Antarctica, dating around the same time period as the Arctic Scout Ship. These Kryptonians were exogeologists, studying the effects of our sun's solar radiation on Kryptonian minerals for terraforming purposes. They tested at all major points around the globe. But their findings were never reported back to the Kryptonian Science Council, because they all died of radiation poisoning unique to their physiology. Through a combination of atmospheric exposure and UV radiation from the yellow sun in addition to the hundreds of thousands of years of radiation collected from Rao before being brought to Earth, the minerals began to sap energy from a similar "conductor" like itself (i.e., any nearby Kryptonian soaking up solar rays which by itself, after some adapting, has its benefits as we all know. These minerals began to grow into the earth's crust itself (an homage to the Donner concept of Krypton "growing crystals") while at the same time containing that energy within it. This is how it powers Metallo.

All speculation and vain hope, promise. :hehe:

I think it will be absolutely funny if there is no villain at all.

It has occurred to me some time ago (well, beside Lex Luthor that is, but he's a manipulating, scheming villain, not a physical one) and I found that I actually wouldn't mind it. I'd prefer a more story-driven than action-driven movie anyway.

Batman and Superman will already be at each others throats at some point and as we've seen from set photos there'll be some goons for Batman to beat up. Not that any sort of confirmation was needed for that, though.
But there's also Wonder Woman who's expected to get into the action and she wouldn't be fighting Gotham's criminals, so there will surely be some more serious physical threat in the movie.

Is Lex Luthor not a villain? How about Mercy?:funny:

I believe he meant a physical villain, but I might be mistaken.

Ah, who am lying to? I'm never mistaken. :D

Except when I am.

Yes.

Why is he so obsessed with the idea of this film not having a villain?

He is?

Haven't noticed then. Well, to some extent we're all obsessed with something. For example, Fallen Angel is quite obviously obsessed with his rug.

Now I'm off before he kills me.

Yes, he goes on a lot about there not being a villain in this film.
Lol.

Haven't read much of his posts, but speaking without any real insight on the matter, I find that we all like our theories. You know how it is, you come up with a certain idea and immediately become convinced that you're most probably right and it has to be that way.
Or is it just me being an arrogant bastard? I can never tell... :hmm

And by the way:

Which you still have not returned you good for nothing wolf.:argh:

See what I'm talking about?

:funny: I could go on and on about posts he's made that have just been annoying and repetitive but I don't care so much.

Rumor coming from Mark Hugues and Jett, huh? Because they've never been unreliable before.

Just in case my post get's buried in the TV/Spot-Trailers thread...

Ah...never mind. I was late to the game.

I wouldn't put to much trust in Forbes...he was predicting we'd see the full batsuit for months

Oh, that.

Well, that's another matter. One that makes you miss Zryson actually, he was doing that in style.

My thinking is, Lex gets has hands on some of the crashed kryptonian tech from mos. He figures it out after some serious research is done, and starts building his own tech, ie, metallo, weapons, cures for diseases, etc.

Lex may even put the money up to rebuild the destroyed parts of metropolis.

Lex will most likely invite bruce to partner up and help defend against the ''alien'' threat. Bruce probably trusts him at first and buys all the badmouthing about supes. But Knowing bruce, he figures out something isn't right about Lex. He decides to confront the alien to see for himself what his intentions are.

Lex may even keep tinkering with the tech and ends up creating something he can't control, doomsday, or, maybe brainiac is attracted to earth because of the tech, who knows.

Hard to say why ww and aquaman show in with this. maybe its because of the villain, or, maybe its superman who makes them show up. cyborg is the easy one to figure out. heck, he may even be one of the early experiments of the kryptonian tech.

I've seen many people with the same assumptions, hopefully they don't go too obvious on us.
