BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread!

Most of us are expecting Bats and Supes to battle it out half way through the film, and Lex is just going to manipulate/create a machine to take down Supes in the final act. Only for Batman, and possibly Wonder Woman to save Kal-El's ass. Im one of those people. But what if there is no secondary villain? What if Bats and Supes go at it at the end, with Lex pulling some strings? Just like the movie is sort-of advertising??

Not based on any rumors, it makes the most sense to:

Have Lex and Metallo for BvS. Brainiac as primary villain in JL1. Darkseid primary villain in JL2. Doomsay as primary villain in solo Superman film. Lex of course can have some part throughout all these films as well.

I agree that this makes the most sense. But it's not confirmed that we're getting a Superman movie. It depends on Zack, and if he wants to do it after Justice League Part Two. Which would be released in the year 2021, the earliest.

If they do that final Cavill/Adams Superman movie, Doomsday should be the villain no doubt. But if Doomsday happens to be a big force in Bats v Supes instead, i hope they just ditch the idea of a stand-alone. Only because im not interested in seeing Metallo or another villain as a main antagonist. Sounds boring as hell. If Metallo is ever used, he should be a secondary villain to Luthor.

There's also a great point when people say that Doomsday is barely a character, just a beast, and shouldn't be a main villain for a whole film. So im not sure what to think anymore.

Fans will hate this, but a part of me thinks they should just do a different take on Doomsday, and only use Superman in team-ups from now on. It shouldn't be such a controversial thought since he will probably be the leader of every team-up film. I mean, Brainiac is a Superman villain and he's going to be the villain of Justice League Part One. Supes is important in these movies. Im not sure we need another stand-alone unless they completely skip over on Doomsday for several years.

I'm pretty sure whoever Callan Mulvey is playing, he is the second villain. I do think we will see a strong indication that Luthor is coming up with an "equal" to Superman using Kryptonian DNA. This could lead to Bizarro or Doomsday. Personally, I think Mulvey is Metallo.

In this "heightened realism" that Snyder and Co. are going for with these films, I actually think Bizarro has a great chance of showing up eventually. I don't think he'd have the white skin like in the comics but imagine if the "fight" between Superman and Batman we see in BvS isn't actually Superman at all.

Lex having control over a Superman clone to carry out his corrupt plans to keep the world against the real Superman makes a lot of sense and coincides with the world they've already created in MOS.

Just a theory!

It would make sense if Bizarro shows up since Lex is likely to have used General Zod DNA and superman DNA around the city creating Bizarro. That would be interesting if the fight between batman/superman is a fake superman and the real one is capture by Lex in a unknown location

You really can't do Metallo without Lex anyways though.

I think that they are still following the same progression in terms of villains with BvS that they would have with a regular solo Superman film.

If Batman/WW/other cameos were not in this film I believe the Superman villains would be the same:

Lex/Metallo

Many fans thought MOS was going to have Lex/Metallo and they went with Zod instead as a way to introduce him with a Kryptonian origin and have a villain that makes sense to have a connection to that.

It would seem that Lex/Metallo is the next step, but obviously Snyder would not be averse to throwing us a curve ball

I think Parasite or Bizzaro would be likely candidates for a "curve ball" probably with a push from Goyer if it were to happen. Lex/Metallo just seems like not the biggest threat to have the Trinity face off against, but add in Parasite or the imperfect duplicate and now you got a fight.

I hope not. Batman should have Lex all figured out at the beginning of the movie. This would be TKDR all over again with Bruce being duped like an idiot.

I would love to see Bizarro show up as a destructive puppet of Luthor who is not actually evil; just easily manipulated because he lacks intelligence. That would create a great conflict for Superman; he would be trying to bring down a villain who isn't really a villain. It would force him to not only use his strength, but also his compassion.

Hell be too busy with the JL movies to have time for the Superman movie.Unless they want to release the Superman movie after 2020.

But, though I'm fully expecting them to touch the subject of methahumans and humans in that manner, I personally don't want it to be this excessive.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lex, AFTER he turns the public against superman ( you just know it's gonna happen ) make a run for some kind of office, ie, mayor, senator, or maybe even president. That could help set up JL pretty good.

I agree. Luthor as the president is a great way to go around the character.

Snyder is going to have his hands full with BvS & JL 1 & 2. Those are crucial projects, the most important of the DCCU and also massive undertakings with multiple moving parts compared to any solo. I don't know if he'll have the energy for a MoS sequel anytime soon so maybe someone else should take that.

BvS, then JL, then a solo Superman film between JL2. All of them connected story wise, it is a big undertaking but possible if well organized and plotted out.

I could see someone else taking the reins for the Superman films. It seems like Snyder is going for the big dogs, and it's hard to scale back once you have the League at your disposal. Probably better off this way.
