I think it'll be Superman attending hearings and being asked to stop his activities. Superman politely declines their request and says he's here to help. And then perhaps Lex starts framing him ala Birthright. Enter Batman, who isn't working for the government either, but essentially serves Superman's role from TDK Returns.

I see this happening. Would fit in with the v in the title sounding like a court case too.

Come on WB. Stop this fan fictions... give us a trailer and a synopsis and trinity poster and a full cast.:o

I'd be all for that.

I think Supes is going about his usual superhero business but Lex starts a propaganda campaign against him. He sees Supes as a threat. Not only to his criminal enterprise but as the savior of Metropolis. Lex wants people to bow to him. He wants to rule them. And to achieve that he has to remove Superman from the equation. So he finds Wayne. Someone who, like him, sees the potential of Superman to become a threat. What if he is corrupted? What if he decides one day to not be so benevolent to humans and let them find their own path? With Wayne's help he comes up with a contingency plan that Lex assures Bruce he will never implement unless it's totally necessary. Only Lex has other plans and creates Metallo who he disguises as Superman and he creates catastrophes that Lex blames on Superman.
Bruce then seeks out Superman to find out the truth. Which leads to the first fight/encounter. Or maybe the first fight is Bruce just testing him and his capabilities and vulnerabilities? The 2nd encounter is where they actually do fight and Supes is incapacitated. Lex implements his plan and Bruce finds out that he's been duped. Only he's unable to stop it by himself. He may even have his own life saved by WW and they decide they need to get some help to save Clark and take down the new threat that is before them.

Very iffy considering we know how much Del Toro loves Swamp Thing, and has promoted his inclusion.

I don't think this is a rumor, considering that the film has been confirmed for a 3D release. And while it's not revealed yet, company Legend 3D won bids to convert four major tentpole films from "various studios", booking 3D conversion and 3D VFX work through June 2016. They are also in final negotiations for three more films coming out this year and 2016.

Considering that WB hired them to convert MOS in 3D, I'm pretty sure they'll work on BVS. Wish it was Stereo-D, they do amazing work.

Figured BvS would be in 3D. They certainly have the time to do a good conversion.

Bleh, that means even the IMAX screenings require 3D glasses. Dammit. At least film the thing with 3D cameras.

I'd be all for that.
In terms of the fight, I'd like to see Batman technically superior. A master of combat and timing. And I'd like Superman's power and might conveyed appropriately. That's a fair trade-off, I think.

I feel like the only way it'll be "fair" is if Supes is de-powered completely. Even discounting the super-strength, there is the matter of Supes being super-quick as well. And no technical prowess can match up to an individual who can move faster than you can blink.

But he can be outwitted. He's predictable. And he's also compassionate. Those things can be used against him. Also I'm pretty sure there will be some Kryptonite involved. It's inevitable that he is at least going to be temporarily out of action.

I think Ben doesn't direct his own Batman film.

Was catching AMC and a viewer floated the idea of Fincher doing the Bat Solos with Ben. I know people think Ben is a lock for directing the next Batman film, but as Campea pointed out, both Leto and Ben have worked with Fincher in the past. Imagine Fincher's Gotham and a true Batman mystery story as done by the director of SE7EN and ZODIAC? :wow:

It would be great, but Fincher has said he's no longer interested in directing a superhero movie. Hopefully he'll change his mind, but I wouldn't count on it.

I want Fincher so bad for a Batman film.

Maybe Ben and Leto can persuade him.

I hope Ben directs a Batman film, but Fincher would be epic too.

If they both meet expectations like I think they are, I can't see how Fincher wouldn't at least consider a one-off. Bats and Joker are arguably the most famous hero/villain match-up there is in pop culture. If he's allowed free reign and isn't asked to sign on for a franchise, then I have to believe it's a possibility.

I could see Ben producing (hands on style, not just an in name only deal) and co-writing the Bat solos with a revolving door of really well chosen directors.

I think BvS, a Suicide Squad cameo, two Justice League films, and one solo Batman film might be all Affleck is up for. I don't expect him to stick around beyond that.

I think that's what his current contract resembles at this point, but I doubt it would be the end of negotiations.

Assuming everything goes spectacular with the DCCU, I can see WB having another contract talk with Affleck after the second JL film. Given how Affleck doesn't seem to have been slowing down on the directing/acting side since he's been cast, I think he's up to work overtime and maintain the mantle for a while longer. I can see him pulling a Hugh Jackman in this regard. Much like how there is no X-Men without Wolverine, there is no DC or Justice League without Batman. Sure there's recasts, but who wants that if we're invested in the guy and he loves it?

I could be wrong, and of course we're a long way off from finding out one way or the other, but I don't think Affleck will have the kind of enduring desire to play the role for as long as Jackman has with Wolverine.

And I could be wrong as well, but I don't see someone who never "needed" to take on this genre and role in the first place as someone who was only interested in dipping their toes into the proverbial pool.

I sense the decision to sign on was an amalgamation of the love for the character, comfort in a long-term working position, luxury in opening more doors in his career, and the drive to seek repentance within the fanboy community. Again if everything goes well, he's arguably in the best position anyone has ever had with a comic book role. Who else could say they've been a successful superhero and have the ability to direct their own career path simultaneously?

A nice franchise is a cushy way for high profile actors to keep the money coming in even when passion projects go awry. Look at RDJ's non MCU films these last few years. Outside of the Holmes films (Another franchise BTW) he's not exactly been setting the world on fire BO wise. I could see Ben sticking around if for nothing else than the paycheck (Yes... That was a ref.)
