If the trailer is coming with JA (As a way to boost that film's opening BO) then they better start advertising that fact sooner than later.

If they really want to boost films BO the trailer shouldn't be released online :hehe:

People keep posting his tweets as if he is saying something relevant when he is saying nothing. It's starting to get annoying.

If he says trailer is coming feb 6th cool post it. If he says hey guys the trailer is good don't post it nobody cares.

He "quoted" the F4 trailer before it was release: "Burn!"
Didn't see that.

It's already been said that was the title of the trailer print. He never said it was an actual quote IN the trailer.

Just like the hobbit was pegged to receive a bvs trailer, this rumor has no merit. I hate to say it but I feel like if WB thought JA would fail, they'd just let it fail. This is why the movies being released in February, not a very popular movie month. They won't attach they're biggest bread winner to a no name feburary flick. There's also no merit to the super bowl rumor. From what we've seen so far, it would appear WB is not interested in direct competion with marvel. If ita getting attached to a movie this year, it's gonna be mad max. It's shaping up to be "the big summer flick" of 2015. I know we all want a trailer but if they were to post one this early in the year, the hype would build only to die down again in a few months. Catch an audience mid year and they're likely to ride the high clear through to 2016

Teasers going to be released online anyway within the next day or the same day so it doesn't really matter which movie it's attached to.

Oh we're getting it maybe in the next week or so as well.

I'm of the opinion that release dates for movies don't matter that much. Look at American Sniper.

:lmao: Imagine the Rogaine sponser money they they could get if they went this route.

Every copy of the Blu-Ray could come with a free membership to Baldie's Anonymous. That's a real thing, right? ;)

I agree. Bad movies flop in prime locations. Good movies thrive in not so prime locations.

If it's good, people come. If it's bad, they don't.

and sometimes decent movies don't make that much because they put it in such a competitive slot.

That's why I said "maybe".
Lol I know, I was just yanking your chain.

When this trailer does it, I think it will crash the hype. That or Spider-Man going to Marvel. Those are the two things I'm waiting for this year that I think will do some serious damage around here.

It is actually easier than ever before to pick and choose a good movie or a bad movie to watch thanks to meta critic and rotten tomatoes. This is great because it forces studios to be the best they can be. Having said all that ive said before, WB could see JA as a genuinely good movie; and because of that we could see a trailer attached to it. Its also very likely that they'll just drop it online like the avengers did, and like Snyder did with the character pics. Could be anytime really.

Yep.

I find it so funny that studios seem to think there are certain times of year they can't make money off of audiences. It makes them shoot themselves in the feet with overcrowded release dates.

Don't they realize that nobody watches a trailer and says, "Looks good, but it's in February, so I can't see it "?

The big movies tend to make their money on repeat viewings...the summer became the prime spot because kids are out of school and most people are on vacation...lots of free time to go see Guardians of the Galaxy over and over as opposed to January where everyone is back off holiday leave, kids are back in school...and blizzards to keep people from going to the theaters.
However because the summer is so overcrowded you are seeing studios experiment with non traditional big budget release dates.

I'm going to see movies I really want to see whenever they come out, but for ones I'm indifferent about paying to see, I'd be much more inclined to go to the movies in the colder months than the summer, with it being inside and all.

I don't understand what data they have to show that I am crazy for having that line of thought. That all good movies must come out between May and August.

I know the theory behind why summer is prime placement. I just think that sometimes studios get too set in their ideas. American Sniper probably wouldn't have done such business in the summer, for example.

It's just nice to see studios spacing their big releases.

See Roach's post for a good explanation.

And you're among the minority being more likely to go in winter weather. Many people love the theater most during summer cause it's a nice cool place to hand and a summer activity that won't make you all sweaty.

The studios have been working to expand the release map. September and October are the two months that remain the sleepiest.

The release pattern of American Sniper is nothing new. Black Hawk Down and Lone Survivor both had the same pattern of a limited release in December followed by a wide release in January. American Sniper has just taken off and become a box office phenomenon, while the other two were successful in their domestic releases but much more modestly so. The huge success of American Sniper will inevitably lead to a studio releasing a big budget movie on Martin Luther King weekend.

October is also improving now with Gravity and Gone Girl. This year has St. James Place (and formerly had Jungle Book), next year has Gambit. Gravity changed the perception of October completely.

February will remain as a bad release date apart from Valentine's weekend. Mainly because February lines up with all the exams for different colleges, schools and universities.

October is improving, but it's still delivered only one movie that's grossed more than $200 million domestic and none that have grossed more than $300 million domestic. Gravity has the record for biggest October opening at $55.785 million. With the wide release opening of American Sniper, September and October are now the only months that haven't had an opening of over $80 million (September's biggest opening being $42.522 million for Hotel Transylvania).

Oh man don't get me started on the horror movies scheduled this October! Paranormal activity, insidious 3, a new rob zombie flick, new del toro flick. But that's a whole different story. (Sorry off topic)
