I just purchased the Ultimate Cut and--WOW--it does wonders for the story's cohesion. Of course, it didn't undo the neurotic, chihuahua-like acting of Eisenberg or the sloppy shoehorning of Wonder Woman in the the film, but it put the focus back on the DCEU's cornerstone, Cav-El. The UE bumps the film to an 8.5/10 rating. While the movie was indeed long, I'm stumped as to why so many edits of valuable narrative were made in the TE.
While I know many critics and fans bemoaned Superman's contemplative nature in BvS, I thought it worked very well for the theme of the movie. The UE enhanced that even further when Supes saved people after the Congressional hearing, only to realize that body counts and increasing controversy followed him everywhere he went. Of course he didn't walk around with a goober grin when he realized that being a hero was so costly.
The big fight scene with Supes and Bats seemed more even and dramatic to me this time around. I'm not sure if more shots were included or if I was able to process it better solely because I stopped a few shots to see them in slo-mo. Lastly, while I wish the Bat Butt scene wasn't on the UE at all, at least it was mercifully short.
