BvS The BvS Ultimate Cut Thread - Part 3

Folks just need to get the **** over this film already. You're whining because it wasn't established in the film that Superman can't see through lead despite the fact it has been established in every other form of Superman media out there. YOU know he can't see through lead so why the **** does there need to be a line about it? How does Lex know about Bruce and Clark? He's Lex ****ing Luthor, that's how.

I don't recall any whining but it sure seems like you may be upset.

Out of curiosity, why did you like the addition?

And as for those complaining, they were clearly missing the point of the scene.

Well as I said I didn't need it and I do just love those sorts if things, it takes me back to the Donner film, Lex uses it in that to hide the Kryptonite. It's like the shirt rip, just one if those things I love. But in the film I like it because he blames himself for not seeing it but turns out had he looked (although as I said before why would he?) he wouldn't gave seen it anyway.

Yeah I agree

I agree it didn't need an explanation but no ones whining here. It's actually a discussion about the situation. It's best to remember that what works for us might not work for others etc.

And please don't worry about me. I sleep fine.

Not really. How does Lex know Superman will not be looking? He needed to make sure that Superman doesn't see it by having them lead lined. Jena Malone scenes help develop Lex more than it helps Clark's.
wow!!! that's brilliant!!! what's a perfect plan from Lex...

for those who asked how did he know about the lead effect... you might as well ask why was he called as superman? who gave him that name? it was never established in the film or in MOS...

Yeah, not really.

I agree that Synder is no Nolan but, I don't understand all of these hack comments I keep reading about Synder. Where were all of these hack references when Zack made 300, Watchmen, and Man of Steel. I don't recall anyone saying this during the production of BvS either. Synder was considered to be a decent yet, divisive comic book director for years and after one disappointing CBM he becomes a hack?
You're more offend with calling Snyder a hack, than saying "thank god" to Nolan no longer being involved with the character of Batman?

Seriously? In MOS, the soldier mentions that they are calling the alien "Superman".

It's all easier said than done. Just like what sounds good on paper doesn't always translate well to film.

These are minor details anyway. The audience should get the impression that Lex knows everything. He knows where to find every single character, whether to kidnap them or not. He's got the resources. He uses them to gain knowledge which he is so fond of, reflecting his Book Donation party speech. He had access to General Zod and Kryptonite. People just need to make the connection.

Or they could have fleshed out Lex over the course of 2 films instead of jamming everything into 1 rushing and expecting people to just make a connection. All of these takes on the characters are new and instead of giving them time to be developed they were rushed, and now they want us to learn backstories in solo movies well after the fact. It doesn't sit well with alot of people. And I respect your opinion, you're a huge fan so the characters made sense to you without alot of explaining. But it didn't work for alot of people unfortunately.

Man that's just brilliant thanks for clearing that plothole up. Lex knew 1 movie into this new shared universe that Bruce Wayne is Batman and Clark Kent is Superman because "he's Lex ****ing Luthor"

That's not rushed at all. I agree. Everyone should stop whining. Who wants a fleshed out universe when we can just be left to assume everything on our own.

Lex Luthor is suppose to be a 12th level intellect which would make him one of the smartest beings to have ever lived in the universe. Then you telling me that guy couldn't figure out the trail of bread crumbs established in MOS? If Lois figured out and Lex didn't, that would be the shame.

I can buy Him discovering that Clark is Superman. But Bruce is Batman? I call ********.

It's not impossible to find out, if someone was motivated enough to find out, they would. Amanda Waller knows right?

secret identity thing is pretty much non existence in DCEU.

I find it more obvious that Batman is Bruce than Superman is Clark.

It's established in the film when Lois says that he can't. Poor way to establish something like that, but still, it was established.

That being said, a movie needs to be able to stand on his own. Not everyone should need to know Superman's entire historical background in order to understand the movie. I would bet most of the GA have no idea he can't see through lead.

Which scene in Batman v Superman suggests that he is one of the smartest beings to have ever lived in the universe?

No. I didn't respond to a moronic comment that's not worth my time. On the other hand I find the hack comment to be weird. People not liking Zack's style of directing is on thing but, I still find it odd that he could be considered a hack after directing two cbms that represented their source material so accurately.

Seriously, this hack title is for the likes of the Tim Storys and Brett Hackners of the world.

Seriously? This is supposed to be a new take on old characters. How about establishing your new takes by fleshing them out to the GA instead of picking and choosing which stuff carries over from previous incarnations. Just say it, the WB rushed this film because they foolishly felt the need to play catch up. Tgey jammed 3 storylines into 2.5 hrs. As a massive Superman fan it's disappointing.
