I think Cap's costume in Avengers was awesome. It looked fantastic, especially during scenes in the final battle. The helmet looked awesome! So many great shots. Loved it.

I can live with the outfit but the helmet was ridiculous. cap looks far more 'real' in his solo movie

That's reassuring. :woot: One of my disappointments with TFA was how Cap didn't really feel very Super-Soldiery except for a couple of times when he sent guys flying with hits from his shield.

Oh and trust me there's a BIG DIFFERENCE to, not just a flip or high jump here or there.

Thanks! I was undecided but I think Thor was my favorite of the team

That's awesome, we can always use more Thor fans around here.

I loved the costume. I also love that Captain America was every part the leader in this movie. Well done.

Cap's Avengers costume is the best superhero costume to date.

Loved the part where
He gives orders to the police, then proceeds to show them why they should listen to him

My favorite Cap action sequence is probably when
He fights Loki one on one and actually holds up. That whole scene was so awesome, with Cap saving the old man, then the actual fight was sweet (although it was short) Also liked the part where Loki told him to kneel and Cap does a flipping kick to his face

Also,
That was pretty nifty when on the Helicarrier scene, the agent throws a grenade and Cap jumps and kicks it down.
Speaking of which, they really displayed Cap's acrobatics, he was jumping all over the place.

However...I still feel like he needed one more scene in the final battle, a more heroic one. Iron Man got to be the hero, and I think both Cap and Thor could have used a more heroic final sequence.

Same here :csad:

Well, I guess Cap saving those people in the bank was pretty heroic, but Thor I feel could've used one more shot.

I think it's fitting the Cap's first debut in costume was in Germany and that he saved the life of that elderly blind man who stood up against Loki . I really enjoyed the fight choreography for his fight against Loki that showed even though Loki's a God, Cap isn't a pushover and can hold his own.

Having seen the movie twice, I can say I was very impressed with Evans as Cap.

I loved him in the solo film, but worried about how he'd come across in The Avengers; clashing with Stark and he lovely ego :D.

But I really believed that Cap was the guy in charge of this group and was definitely the authority figure after Fury. And I honestly believed he was goin to (and would) whoop Stark's @$$ :D

Nah after seeing how IM was able to go toe to toe with Thor, I doubt Cap would've been able to defeat him.

You guys really think Cap could go toe to toe with someone who fought Thor?

I know this is the Cap threads, but being a "super soldier" can only go so far against a suit of armor.

Something I really liked was that Whedon wasn't afraid of putting this one subject that most superhero/comic movies would stay away from. Caps line of:

"There's only one god and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that"

Thought it was good emphasizing Rogers "old fashioned" views including his religious outlook even in the face of all this craziness.

I thought that was a slight to my precious Asgardians and I took offence!!! :argh:

Sure.
He's Captain America. That's sorta his thing. Real world logic, of course not.
In the realm of comic & fiction, he's done it (at least hold the line)numerous times.
Otherwise, Stark would probably just have ended up as a crunched up ball of metal in his initial bout against Thor.

Good point, I'm sure I'll be able to suspend my belief in favor of an awesome fight scene (I did it with Thor vs Iron Man).

Word

I think Captain America had about the same range of motion in both films. He just did more acrobatic moving in THE AVENGERS, period. But in CAPTAIN AMERICA, he was leaping over things, rolling around, and relatively agile. I'm sure they use stunt suits anyway for the agile sequences.

Honestly I was satisfied with Cap's agility in his solo film, but it was definately more evident this time around.

People are kind of going overboard with Cap's "lack of" acrobatics in CA:TFA though, they act as if he was a cardboard box or something.

what happened to Amanda Righetti's character from the end of Cap, it seems like they set it up that she would be more important

Cap was so much more agile in this film than he was in TFA, one of my favorite characters in the whole film. On a side note, its pretty crazy to see Evans as Cap and totally forget that he played The Human Torch. His portrayal of Cap was spot on IMO, Evans IS Cap in my book

I thought the same thing when I saw that scene

Also upon my second viewing, I reslized that the Chitauri that had the alien grenade was one of the Chitauri generals.
His build was bigger, he had more adornments on his left shoulder, I believe, and he seemed to be ordering the others in that building.
His helmet got knocked of when cap first launched his shield at his head and he recovered to throw the grenade which ultimately took him out and threw cap out the window.
Another thing I noticed was earlier when Cap was pinned on the ground by a Chitauri outside, he punches it in the face hard to take it out.
Then when you see Cap's reflection in the mirror on the ground, that same Chitauri's body that fell next to it had the lower jaw section of the mask, along with its entire lower jaw taken off.
Good display of power.
