Posts a shortlist of 5 popular fancast, earns all the clicks last night

El Maybe debunks it saying it's inaccurate not even in the ballpark, suggests Zazie was being eyed (frontrunner or one of, not clear by his tweet)

KC Walsh (Polito's buddy) then use this to defend the shortlist

In conclusion, the truth is probably they're looking at WOC, Zazie was one of them and dropped out, and the real top 1-2 contenders are not in this list (because GWW sucks at hitting the core casting info)

PS I just find it hilarious they went from Vanessa Kirby to a list of black actresses, maybe next week they might list a shortlist of Asians - Karen Fukuhara, Constance Wu, Lucy Lu....=P

I just gave you a search for Pattison as Batman on twitter with many results that ends the day before the manip was dropped. You said NO ONE was mentioning him before, which is false.

It was a figure of speech. There are millions of Batman fans, of course at least a few (including us) thought of Pattinson.

My point is , however that he wasn't a very talked about candidate before that fanart, which is what you're claiming he was. Even on these forums, we started talking about him with much more frequency after that fanart.

I think it makes sense considering Selina's previous portrayals and Hollywood standards. I would love to be wrong and see Sonoya being cast but Hollywood almost never cast Asian actors when the characters are supposed to be sexy/flirty. Hollywood definition of diversity is very limited so.

I listened to it a few days ago and he said WOC, unless my hearing's gone the drain...that's why it's so disappointing to see people just immediately go for black talents and ignoring the rest, especially when Wright just got the role (or 99%), and Denzel's kid is probably gonna get the Dent role (or at least is rumored).

It's pretty sad when it comes to "sexy" asian actors get a pass, if true, lol. But there's a serious difference of views between and westerners, which is interesting if anything

Umberto can be petty and arrogant at times, and I certainly wouldn't put him on the level of a Kroll or a Bory's Kit; but by the same token, he's built a reputation for being fairly reliable over the years. And that was years before he was given access to all the resources that come with being a trade reporter at The Wrap. So, in this instance at least, I take his debunking of said rumor as fact.

He said PoC, which in media terms at least usually refers to blacks. Of course, additional non-white groups (e.g., Indians, Arabs) can and have been classified as such as well; I've just found that to be less common in the States, where these casting descriptions are coming from. Many Hispanics identify with the term as well, but as mentioned before, the word Hispanic encompasses different racial types; those of wholly or partial European descent in particular aren't always comfortable with the designation. Asians too, who often have very light complexions, aren't crazy about the term. So, knowing what's meant by PoC, in the precisest terms, can be tricky to navigate at times.

The fact of the matter is that we won't know for sure what's what until Kroll or someone similarly reliable elaborates on the scoop in question.

lol I mean Thomas is genuinely fine and has sources, I don't see him calling people out and shame them etc, but this game you get real and fake denials and either way denials means you'll get killed online, and you've got to take it on the chin or apologize for making s*** up for any reason.

It was actually good of Browning to nip the rumor in the bud (much to Polito's dismay I'd imagine lol); there's no harm in her having a little fun with it. Also, not that there was much credence to the report in the first place, but at least we can move on now.

Can’t speak to Logan Browning’s talent, but it looks like I’m alone in thinking that she looks young as hell. I honestly can’t believe she’s 30. I dunno, to me, she looks more like a Batgirl than a Catwoman.
