Well, based on that scene where she was whispering on Gosling's ear (and the giant hologram scene) she does a perfect sultry voice and I can definitely see her having a playful villanous side. Hathaway playing a femme fatale was also considered a stretch when she was cast, regardless if people turned out to be wrong.I just haven’t seen de Armas in any role that convinces me she has any of the edge I’d want to see in Selina. She’s always been the good, long-suffering wife/girlfriend in just about everything I’ve seen her in. Jaded, mischievous badass seems like it would be quite a stretch to her for me.
That said, Kirby would be great in the role. I'm still not totally convinced by the Pattinson casting, however.
