Honestly unless they go for unknowns, it's pretty easy to get a shortlist of any given starring role that has established physical trait sets.

Proper age range (usually within 5 years) + looks + acting credentials on the up-and-up + momentum from recent role(s)

You're guaranteed to nail 90% of the Hollywood shortlist with those criteria.

With Batman it was kinda easy to predict what the shortlist was going to be since there were only a handful of actors right for the part.

However with Catwoman there are so many actresses they could consider that making a shortlist is a bit harder.

I actually see that too. If anything, Ridley as Batgirl seems too obvious. The idea of Ridley playing someone as unpredictable and elusive as Catwoman, however, sounds more intriguing and outside the box of Ridley's good girl image .

Then again, if Kirby is already being eyed for Catwoman , I could see them going to Ridley for Batgirl.

Kirby’s one of my faves too, so I hope this is true.

Not only is she a great actress with a great look for it, but her voice, y’all. Granted, I don’t know what she’d sound like with an American accent but with her Brit one it’s so perfectly sultry and Selina-esque, imo.

I just haven’t seen de Armas in any role that convinces me she has any of the edge I’d want to see in Selina. She’s always been the good, long-suffering wife/girlfriend in just about everything I’ve seen her in. Jaded, mischievous badass seems like it would be quite a stretch to her for me.

I've never seen Kirby in anything but based on her resume she's pretty much the type of actress I'm expecting Reeves to cast as Selina.

I think Kirby would give a similar performance to Michelle Pfeiffer, they kind of have a similar vibe.

The Crown and M:I - Fallout together should be all you need to see range, tbh. Totally different characters, both played perfectly, imo.
