I'd be pumped if we get either of them... although admittedly I'd be a bit more giddy if Janelle gets the gig. If anyone is qualified to not only star as Catwoman, but also come in and write a hit single or three for a Batman movie, it's the lady who was mentored by Prince.



(I'm only half-joking here. It'd be amazing to see Janelle cover Partyman or one of Prince's other Batman 89 songs though. )

If it winds up being Janelle Monae, I'm hoping for either the Darwyn Cooke Catsuit (finally) or the original grey-black Catsuit from Batman: The Animated Series. I feel like either of those two would suit her best.

Casting calls have an age cap for a reason. Gugu will be 38 when the movie comes out and 40 when the sequel shoots. Same age Affleck was when he was cast

Yeah... it'd probably not be the brightest idea, but who knows what they'll do. I'd prefer to go younger and there are plenty of great younger options we've discussed here.

My other idea outside of Sofia Pernas is Jodie Turner-Smith. She was great on Jett and is in an upcoming Queen and Slim film.

Janelle certainly has the charisma. Eiza does too based on my memory of Baby Driver. Ana is spotty though. Seems like she puts a great performance on in Knives Out but that’s not out for a bit...

Yeah, I just haven’t seen what I need to see from De Armas to believe she has this character in her. Maybe Knives Out will change that, IDK.

I actually feel the same about Janelle, but I’ve seen more from her that makes me think she could do it, just doesn’t seem like the ideal fit as of yet.

I'm not really big on Gugu, either. I mean, she's very pretty, but she's pretty in a way that reads delicate to me. She's cute. But I'm not sure I can see her as Catwoman.
