Umberto laid a massive smackdown, though. Polito is nuts and trying to divert the issue. Regardless if at some point his shortlist was accurate, he got many of the fandom riled.

To be fair, Umberto has been in that position before. When you get a legit gig like Umberto did with The Wrap, you're no longer the rogue scooper, trying to get info by any which way. There's always these online scoopers not working for trades that pop up. There's always the time they get some scoops, get some buzz going for themselves, and then they usually go for a bigger one and fail!

Yeah, but he leaned hard on his shortlist despite glaring signs of some obviously non-candidates (Tessa and Lupita). Like many have said when the initial shortlist came out, it was painfully obvious how absurd his list was. As a PoC myself, the shortlist is insulting because PoC are not limited to blacks.

Not surprised that shortlist is bunk though, I remember their list for Batman and it didn’t have Pattinson on it, so I’m guessing the same thing will happen here. I’m guessing we’ll know the answer by the end of the month.
