If you're a figure in the eye of the public, would you not want to apologize as well? Would you be fine with people thinking you're a pre-madonna with anger issues? Bale wanted to set the record straight and assure people he's still a humble guy. A momentary lapse in judgment could alter perception and he didn't want that to happen.

It's a case of "I'm sorry you all had to see/hear that". I'm sure you're familiar with it.

Most of the people here are acting like Bale is the best man in the world for accepting he made a mistake. Of course he had to apologize, his manager and the studio probably told him to do that. Its bad promotion for the Terminator movie. I wonder if you guys would defend a George Clooney or Val Kilmer the same way.

Actually, I would. I could care less who it is, its not any of our businesses just because the person was a well known actor.

Yea that's what I mean. Explain what happened and say sorry that we had to hear it. But still, he doesn't owe an apology for his actual actions to anyone else apart from the people on set IMO.

Yeah, people were making a lot of misconceptions about him from that audio, among them that Bale was this huge bully threatening some poor puny guy, which as he states was far away from the truth.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Seeing an over-worked Batman is always a plus.
