Someone needs to compile a list of the top 20 superhero movie deaths. I know the deaths of Quicksilver and Coulson have had a profound impact on me and have become major cultural events in themselves. Just can't imagine either movie without them!

And Rami's Uncle Ben! :yay:

People have to keep in mind that the MCU is now moving in real time. Black Panther isn't set to come out till 2018. I doubt Marvel is going to go with the idea that the Avengers have been hiding out in and operating out of Wakanda for two whole years.

What do you think they're gonna do with the on the run Avengers then? Do you think they'll appear in any of next year's films? Maybe spiderman?

Because Tony destroyed the suits at the end of IM3, and then ... Ultron happened. And Pepper couldn't take more of Tony's ****

Which leaves room to segue into.....

I'm thinking Priyanka Chopra. :o

Spider-man deals with spidey and he is aligned with stark , makes sense that iron man will appear , doesn't need anyone else or the fallout from civil war to be included.

The most likely movie we might see a fallout from CW is possibly ant-man 2 movie since Scott will be a fugitive along with cap and the rest. How it impact the movie will be interesting.

It was mostly an unfair fight on Caps part because Bucky was helping.

I hated that honestly. What a crap way to end that cool/fun relationship, great job Russo's. :cmad:

The film wasn't perfect, and I get that it won't be to everyone's tastes, but some of the "criticisms" in the forum and comment sections are baffling.

Nobody died so there were no stakes - Since when does someone have to die for there to be impact in a film? And since when did anyone state that hereos have to fight to the death? Caps team was trying to hold them back long enough to get to a plane, Ironmans team was tying to stop them to take in Bucky. There was no need for anyone to use deadly force. Saying that, Panther was DEFINITELY trying to kill WS, likewise Ironman clearly wanted him putting in the ground at the end too.

Ironman's "U-Turn" at the end - Tony was ignoring Ross as the end as he'd proven Cap right. The Avengers were just Ross' *****es now that he was calling into whatever fight he wanted them for, and imprisoned those that had disagree with him. Zemo though had proven Stark right though; his entire plan and everything that happened was just MORE fallout from the Avengers actions in previous films. Both sides were right in many ways and both were very wrong in many ways; It's called an adult discussion :P Personally, I think it's great that the writers balanced both sides so well.

I think it was just a bit of a cheap way to isolate Iron-Man more. He's been shown to be egocentric and hypocritical before; acting with full conviction to an idea on a whim. Pepper has helped balance that and make him think and question his ideas more so without her in the picture it allowed these qualities to come to the forefront.

Lol no that one was actually good! It's different for deaths that are straight out of the comic pages. That definitely needed to happen and it was done well. The Avengers ones have been terrible! It's just Whedon's disease that he has to put a death in whether or not it helps with anything in the same way that M Night Shyamalan needs to put a twist in EVERY film. If they were shooting a documentary about pet hamsters Shyamalan would put a crazy (stupid) twist in and Whedon would add an unnecessary death scene. ;)

Yup, I thinn good chance some or all of the 4 avengers on the run will appear in either black panther and/or ant man and the wasp. However, those films are both in 2 years time. Wonder what the avengers are doing in the meantime

Questions:
1. When Rhodey fell out of the sky, why didn't any of the flying Avengers catch him?
2. Why didn't Iron Man pursue Cap when he flew off?
3. Were the captured Avengers officially charged with anything, or is this just a secret detention?

#2 answers #1.
IM and Falcon both tried to catch War Machine, they just didn't get to him in time.
I think they mentioned something about aiding and abetting an escaped criminal and ignoring the Accords, which had already been adopted by the UN.

1. They did - Falcon and Iron-man both raced to catch him but weren't fast enough.
2. Because of Rhodey.
3. I'd assume aiding Cap but there isn't an official charge at all. Even when the real goings on are uncovered, Ross makes it clear that there's still no possibility of their release.

I just finally saw the new spot where Bucky flips the motorcycle towards the camera while taking it for the big chase scene. I am so stoked to see this movie! I am glad to see from the new snippets that everyone seems to be formidable.

Loved the film. Arguably as good or better than TWS.

Back Panther was perfect.

So was spider.

That's actually a big point. I wonder what Barrer, Ferrari & McKay (the script writers for Ant-Man 2 alongside Paul Rudd) think of these developments regarding Scott... Feige said that they had a "supercool idea", so I hope that the plans for this movie aren't hampered in any way because of a small cameo of Ant-Man in Civil War. That would be a shame.

Yeah, I kinda feel bad for Clint, Scott, and Sam's families. They got a nasty deal.

Although, I think I'm right in saying Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is coming up first so their fugitive status may have been revoked by the time we get to Ant-Man and the Wasp.

I heard Cap beats the **** out of Iron Man. But in the trailers you see Cap beaten down and tirwd and getting ***** slapped across the room. So my question is,

How much damage did Tony do?

This was one of the most misleading aspects of early spoiler discussion IMO. I was a bit concerned when the initial reports were simply 'Cap destroys Iron Man' as this wouldn't really reflect how they have been portrayed thus far. In reality, the last fight is definitely better represented as Cap and Bucky vs IM rather than Cap vs Iron Man. I don't think Cap would have won without help. There is a lengthy period of Iron Man momentarily subduing Cap while pursuing Bucky, but Cap keeps catching up and chips away at the armour, damaging Iron Man's rocket boosters. Eventually it ends up in the 2 v 1 situation seen in the trailer.

Bucky is then incapacitated after losing his arm from the arc reactor blast (though he did manage to cause some damage in the process). Cap then definitely gets the upper hand, backing IM into a corner and landing a lot of combinations, though without causing any severe damage.

Friday warns IM 'you can't beat him hand to hand', but then he orders her to analyse Cap's fighting pattern and adapt. He then manages to grab Cap's shield and says 'now let's kick his ass'. That's when Cap gets beaten down, takes a repulsor blast and is left without his shield close to the edge of where they are fighting. Cap looks pretty beaten up. That's when IM warns him to stand down and Cap has the 'I can do this all day' line. My reading is that the fight is won for IM at that point. Cap obviously wouldn't give up but what saves him is Bucky grabbing Iron Man's leg. When that happens, IM turns round to deal with Bucky and Cap grabs him from behind slams him to the ground and gets full mount before winning the fight by pounding and grabbing his shield to finish the fight.

So, it is technically true that Cap beats IM down, but he definitely didn't do it alone.

True dat. Actually, it would make a lot of sense for IW1 to focus on the "fugitive Avengers" for some part at least (and given that it's the CA team working on these films it's kinda a given). Then Ant-Man can return into his solo lore .

With all this timing, it's interesting though how three movies coming out before IW1 won't be affected by Civil War at all (Dr Strange, GotG, Thor: Ragnarok) and two will feature characters from the "other" side (Spider-Man, Black Panther) before the "fugitive Avengers" can factor into the MCU again. That's if they don't show up in Spider-Man or Black Panther, but I doubt any of that. Those should be more stand-alone movies.

Just got back - loved it. All of it. Especially, given that I've always been intrigued with the idea of other nations replicating the SSS and having their own version of Cap, the flashback involving WS and the Soviet super-soldiers (although I'm a bit bummed by what happened to them and that there wasn't even a whiff of a Red-Guardian mention in there).

I thought it was interesting that Zemo murdered them all. It was as though it was determined to stick to its premise and not introduce a new threat in the third act that would force an alliance between Stark & Cap.

Though I did feel them descending into the Russian bunker where there were possible super soldiers WS reminiscent of an Ultimate-verse comic where they found a version of Red Guardian (who was a cannibal, because y'know Ultimates lol).
