Over dramatic much? Hahaha Another poster and I think that the MCU power ranking is pointless so that means no fun apparently. We gave our thoughts on it.

People can do whatever they want, I just said narratively speaking, it's pointless. Before this movie came out I said this is not Pokemon, where everything is about power levels and raw stats. People kept acting like the film was gonna be 2 hours of Cap and his team getting obliterated by Team Iron Man because Team Iron Man is stronger and now they're surprised that it didn't go down like that.

To be fair, she took down the Hulk and Thor in AOU by messing with their minds. So physically, she's not the strongest, but I don't think it would ever come to a physical fight.

Exactly MBJ I just have my thoughts on it as well like you did, which we are allowed to do. And we both see it as pointless. Doesn't mean "no fun allowed in this thread" as he said. Being dramatic.

Does the Vision have legal status?
Does Spider-Man have a secret identity? If he does, how does Iron Man find him?

I thought the two strongest interactions were between Bucky/Cap and Cap/Tony; which makes sense seeing as how it's supposed to be Steve's movie. The Cap/Tony stuff does well to highlight why each is on the side they're own and I liked that while there was emotion involved, there was also an amount of genuine care so that they didn't come off as enemies, but rather just adversarial given the circumstances.

Overall, most of the interaction is premised on the conflict. Save for some fun moments in bringing levity (notably Ant-Man and Spidey), it's a weighted representation of friends going through external strife. Given the flood of characters involved, I was pleased in how they managed to juggle them all. Of course, not everyone gets equal time, but it didn't come off as just shoehorning in characters for no real reason. It feels real, likely because of the amount of groundwork in prior films.
It struck me better than the effects for Professor X, Magneto or Hank Pym (or anyone else I'm missing) and I thought those were good. I was wondering for a while if they were using stock footage from some of Downey's old stuff. Very convincing.

They talk about Wanda's but not Vision's
Yes he does. It's not revealed how Tony finds him.

There isn't much talk about Vision's legal status. He's just there. Secretary Ross does mention that if he lost two 30 kiloton nukes that he'd be in far more trouble than the Avengers are for not knowing where Banner and Thor are.

As for Spider-man, Tony had youtube videos of Spider-man in action in NYC. It doesn't really detail how Tony knew it was Peter. Peter said that only Tony knew he was Spider-man and Tony kept Peter in check with threats to call Aunt May.

Yeah, I remember the junior novel talks about Wanda being illegal and the government not wanting to give her a Visa.

So good to hear about how great the effects are!

Ah nice. I thought I'd read someone else say they didn't like the effect but maybe I'm getting confused. I really liked seeing a young Hank Pym.

I thought they did young Pym better simply due to what they were wearing. Pym was in a suit. They didn't just alter Downey's face, they altered his body to make him look younger and frailer. You could kind of tell they put his face on someone else's body. Oddly, the face close up shot looked better than the full body shots I think for that reason.

Does the Vision sign the Sokovia Accords? If he does, then he must have some kind of legal status as an intelligent being and not just be the property of the Avengers.

Yep. She can take anyone out but at the same time can be taken out by anyone. Unlike Thor and Hulk who are better defensively against most other's attacks.

    Haha.

I really hope Spidey appears in all the Avengers films (even after Infinity War) even if he doesn't become a formal member.

Yes you're a known offender but on your advice I'll have to see for myself in the interests of science. Will have to suffer through this mess of a film just so I can critically assess this allegedly illegal font size. :csad:

Wanda is what's known in TvTropes as a squishy wizard.

Sorry if a stupid question but why was he frailer when younger?

I forget exactly what was said in regards to his decision at the time (either 'thinking it over' or 'TBD'), but it was clear it was presented to him, as was which way he sided when he entered the conflict.
Well, you've been warned. I mean, the font is Godzilla and the screen is Tokyo.

Btw, thanks for bringing this up again on the next page, because I was waiting to get that Godzilla jab in for a while now.
I think he just means 'thinner'. He doesn't carry the same body type as a younger lad. It adds to the visual. Think of the difference in frame between a late teenager and an adult.

The font sounds like a much more intimidating antagonist than Zemo from what I've heard so far. Could it be the best (least bad) MCU villain after Loki?

It's not even a fight where they're trying to hurt each other. What you see is the equivalent of brothers with superpowers wrestling each other in the house when mom and dad are gone.

Apparently he does but it isn't shown. They'd have made Thor sign it too if he were there. Similar issues I'd think. But what Vision is isn't really brought up. Vision's story is focused on him trying to be more human and working on his compassion. He provides some comic relief from the outfits he has on, things like that.

Skinnier. They made him look 16.

Zemo has the potential to be. Bruhl's acting chops are pretty apparent.

In the comics when heroes fight, unless the other guy is accused of some pretty heinous ****, they're not out to kill. Just incapacitate them to show them the deal.

Agreed. As much fun as it was to see them all bashing the crap out of each other, it was tough to watch that friendship break apart while you could see they still geniunely cared about each other - even more so in the third act when you find how complicated (and potentially irreparable) their conflict is.

I also liked that while (to me, anyway) Tony's choices seemed to be the more arrogant at first, as the story went along you could see how he still had a point. Especially with Wanda, and how it became apparent how out-of-control and dangerous her powers were. It seemed like a **** move to "lock her in her room"...but now maybe it wasn't?

And I loved Cap sending Tony a handwritten letter at the end. So fitting for Cap.

Any idea when the full movies (with all post-credits scenes) will be out? Will it be premieres for press or later for the full release? Or another time?
